Bill for the Removal of Eternal students from Universities 

 

The bill 

THE REPUBLIC OF MEG

THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, RELIGION & OUTSCHOOL EDUCATION

 

Article 1

1.1.1

Students may be in a university the years they have to complete it + 2. If a student needs 4 years to complete the degree then the student is allowed to spend a maximum of 6 years in the University. In case a student has failed 3+ times and is in the university for more than the time needed +2 years they will be removed from the University.

 

1.1.2

Students that have Healthcare problems, may be eligible for more time in the University. In case they have failed 4+ times and have spent the time in the University needed +3 years.

 

1.2

Exceptions can be made for a variety of problems. Universities shall never remove someone for Healthcare reasons like cancer.

 

Article 2

2.1

This bill shall affect only National (Public) Universities of Meg. Private universities have the freedom to do as their policy states.

 

2.2

This bill shall be enabled from the 1st of September 2097.

Against: 65 (ALTO,SM,CPM)

Absent: 0

Protests, strikes, occupations.

 

After the bill got accepted by the Parliament Protests, strikes and University occupations started.

 

67% of public workers strike

There were 23 protests 

Students of highschools closed down 1.356 schools

6 universities also were occupied by students, professors and even staff against the bill.

The police has been ordered to stop the occupations and has already made 60 arrests

President signs the 4 oil refineries law

 

The President of Meg Alexandros Marinakos signed the bill of the 4 oil refineries into law and the construction starts now. He also said that he is willing to sign the Removal of Eternal students bill into law soon.
