Gabon First Army soldiers patrolling Mpaga on March 3rd 2096. Relative peace exists for now.

Heavy fighting occurred over the last week as the Gabon First Army, aided by both RON and Foreign supplies, has successfully recaptured the city of Mpaga. The city, of almost no importance before the war, was lit up on the nights of the 1st and 2nd by the fires that raged. End of February, most of the civilians of Mpaga had fled due to local fighting. So the army moved in. Two artillery divisions, under specific orders, layed waste to expected Cartel hideouts all throughout the days.

Well most of the town was razed by the shell fire, indiscriminate in its destruction, no real area or point was concentrated upon. At the end of the 2nd of March(around 11pm) a squad of Nexiren Enforcers infiltrated the town and seized the police station. Ten minutes later the Gabon First Army and RON Expeditionary forces rolled in. Fifty GFA soldiers and thirty two RON soldiers.

The soldiers took hard points and dug in. The Cartel, numbered around sixty, inaccurately layed fire from their positions as our troops pushed in a pincers movement. By 4am the next morning the last Cartel holdouts had surrendered. 5 NE were dead, 23 GFA dead 12 wounded, 20 RON KIA, 2 wounded. Cartel numbers are about 50. Reinforcements were immediatel pulled in. Though the rate of casualties are shocking, causing sense of mistrust by the common soldiers to command, the battle was won.
