Welcome to the first edition of Het Volksnieuws, the official international newsbroadcast service, the first news service funded by the Dutch Government since the NPO was dissolved after the Baudet administration took power in 2050. We understand the fears that this news service will only broadcast government propaganda, but the funding for us is a set amount of money which can only be changed by the highest court in the country, this is to protect our democracy and keep our people informed, which will keep them educated. Now let's jump into today's news.

The Government Puts Forward the "Goudmijn van Europa" Plan:

The Netherlands has long been the import country that was used to get overseas goods into Europe. This title was passed onto other countries after the Uchamans took power in the country and let both the Rotterdam and Antwerp ports decay and get outdated. After the new government took power and the Paradise plan was completed, the ports in both cities were built up to be some of the most modern ports on the continent.

In order to take the title back, the Dutch government has temporarily removed import tarriffs off of products passing through the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp. President Kuyper proudly proclaimed that this act will be the legacy of the Kuyper administration.

Elections Are Coming Up:

In a press conference, the President announced that elections for the office of President of the Dutch Republic will be held soon. With that, the ban on political parties was lifted. President Kuyper said that the need for elections has arrived, now that our state is finally strong and rich. He also announced that he will run for president too. The future of the Dutch Republic will now be in the hands of the people.

Mass Arrest in Eindhoven:

At exactly 12:52PM today, the police has arrested 32 teenagers from a school in Eindhoven. The action has attracted a lot of attention from the local civilians. Boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 19 were brought out in handcuffs and loaded into large military trucks. The police didn't release a lot of information on the crimes they suspect all these teenagers of, but stated that it was an anti drug operation. Many people put question marks at this though, as the drugs problem in the Netherlands had been solved a long time ago.
