Today France is a post warlord era nation, which is doing relatively well against all ods. However how did France develope through history to become the nation it is today?
Prewarlordist France (2012-2022)
An international temperature of fear shrouds the sky as seemingly long fallen Giants begin to stand up once more. France on the other hand had other issues to deal with: Widespread exploitation of the poor, racism against non French population and a significant fall of the French economy. With Francois Allain, member of the les populistes, a far right populist party, being ellected as the president, issues began to heat up once more.
He cared only for money and used the police to shut down any opposition. This however would cost him his presidency and would lead to the following death of the French Republic: In a night in 2022 many of the leading Opposition members disappeared without a trace (up to 500!). It was clear what Francois Allain tried to do and this would lead to an uproar unprecedented in modern French History: The Opposition gathered fire arms and swords and began to storm Paris, Lyon and Marseille and expell the Police and military. They solidified rule over eastern France within 2 months and their territorial gains were Validaded in the treaty of Paris.
2nd: Warlord period
Peace would be temporarly be upon France with the Western French State and the Metropolitan League (former Opposition).
However large infighting began to happen what future France shall await:
2.1 Decentralisation
The young Western French State couldn't hold power over its vast territory: Militarised Farmers and Workers would declare their own "Duchies" which were yet part of the West French influence sphere.
Meanwhile in the East a new French power emerged, which would declare its independence from the East: The Solar Movement lead by Louis Napoleon. Largely centralised around Paris they were nearly outnumbered by the East, but in the miracle of Paris Louis Napoleon could beat the Eastern Military forcing them to retreat from Paris.
A temporary alliance with the Western French State was made to carve up the Metropolitan League:
The territories annexed by the West became duchies, while the territories annexed by the Solar League were directly integrated.
The weakness of the West
Centralising a decentralised State will be hard. When efforts were made to reintegrate the duchies they were met with another civil war.
Duchy after Duchy declared independence with even a successor to the Metropolitan League the French Free Republic popped up. Louis Napoleon used the Chaos to the advantage of the Solar Movement and attacked the West annexing large sums of territory:
3. 2078
The year that would change everything. A year which would decide French unification. One last war one last victory. Louis Napoleon made it and set the course of history for the French republic
