Vardohus, Norway, 1810-1814

A group of 20 Russian, Danish and Swedish soldiers prepare to evacuate. A small village in norway, now being assaulted. Hundreds of the undead. Armed with nothing but muskets, blunderbusses and sabres they decide its finally time for action. Similiarly to what happened in Leipzig, they must fight their way through zombies to evacuate and survive. They've been cut off from anyone on the outside for days now, with dwindling supplies they have no option but to attempt an evacuation. It is night and snowing, with the snow cutting off the only way to the dockyard and Salvation.

They quickly set to work, lighting off a firework to attract any ships to their general location, but it will not be enough. They need to activate a lighthouse for a ship, if any, to find them. Lighting the firework will inevitabely also attract a near endless horde of zombies, but its better than starving and freezing to death. Scavanging supplies, they manage to load a cannon in the basement for one shot. They point it towards the cellar, full of wine, and more importantly shovels. As its blown open with a thunderous roar which certainly attracted more zombies, they rush in taking what they can before evacuating the premises.

Using the shovels they dig away the thick snow that blocks the path to the dockyard. With a united force they manage to do it in 10 minutes, all while being attacked by zombies from all sides. They eventually make it to the Church infront of the dockyard. Despite all their differences, the officers and common soldiers unite in prayer inside of the Church. They know why this apocalypse happened, it is the end times. They must repent for their sins, God has sent this punishment onto them.

Eventually they make their way to the dockyard, now with less people. Only 3 landmarks, a small podium with 2 cannons and enough ammo to blow apart 5 regiments of the Grand Armee, the docks themselves and the lighthouse. The Sappers make quick work of the docks making countless Caltrops and barricades. Some volunteers stay at the cannons, to defend their fellows and risk their own life. Once they were ready, they turned the lighthouse on, and saw as the countless hordes of zombies approached.

As they cut down zombie after zombie, 2 isolated soldiers valiantly fought off zombies for a long time before being overrun. They bought the others much time, such which they couldnt afford for themselves. As the zombies are culled and destroyed, they just keep coming. The cannon boys are close to being overrun, and no ship is in sight. Despite this, the soldiers keep their determination. As they see their friends and even family eaten, turned to zombies, ravaged, they cry out in anger:

"Purge them!"

And they are purged. The zombies fall one after another, while an ominous chant of "Purging with my kin!" looms over the sickly and anemic environment of hopelessnes. The cannon boys refuse to be taken down so easily as they continue firing off until they die either from frostbite or the zombies. Finally, a ship is now in sight. Its slow but its arriving, and their spirits are reinvigorated. They continue shooting and cutting down, now pushed back far into the small plank that would be considered a "dock". Gore on Sabres, Blood on outfits, they continue unwavered. Finally, the ship arrives and lets them onboard. It is merchants, ARMED merchants. With CANNONS.

They man the cannons and guns, as the cannon boys attempt to retreat to the ship. They are overtaken, but one lucky young conscript manages to escape. Now cut down only to 10 people, half of their original number, they continue shooting along with the merchants until the ship finally takes off again. They survived, and they escaped. Even when the light was dying, they did not give up. They didnt give up, until they saw the fuel to their light.

Humanity all around the globe, rages against the dying of the light.
