The President was today in Maerrunoria for the funeral of the late Prime Minister who was killed in the attempted government coup.

However the funeral was overshadowed by the heckling and ghosting that the President endured on the trip.

In an act of diplomatic anger over the proposed speech, Maerrunoria arranged a 36 hour train from the airport to the funeral site, the worst class of train in the country.

On arrival, the President was heckled by crowds and was ignored by the main delegates in the funeral.

His slot to speak at the event was kept, despite heavy criticism that his speech was extremely political and full of anger towards Maerrunoria.

"Dear all, I'll keep this brief, however I want to convey my deepest regrets. This was a Prime Minister that was taken too early. As you all know we worked together on numerous occasions. We didn't agree on everything, but all of our discussions showed her strength of character and her decency as a person. She was a person I always have and always will look up to and she has not only left a hole in the lives of maerrunorians but in the lives of people in Gwlad Emrys too. We will continue to work with Maerrunoria in the same way, and I think she would have wanted more than anything to see a special relationship between our two nations. I think it's time, in her name, to put together our differences and embrace our love for each other's countries. It is disgraceful the animosity there has existed between both our nations and I am prepared to put that aside in order to work for the greater benefit of our two nations. I do not agree in unification, unlike the Social Party puppets of this country, but however we must work together. A lack of cooperation would not serve to ensure any of our countries benefitted and it would be a disgrace to her name. Thank you"

The crowed booed at the end of the speech.

The Prime Minister of Maerrunoria has called the speech "blankly insulting", and the Chamber Party has called on the President to "resign".

Speaking to reporters after the event, the President said that the welcome was "anything but satisfactory and an insult to the late Prime Minister's legacy".

This is become widely knows as the largest diplomatic nightmare in Gwlad Emrys' history. An unnamed source from the Sawhist Party told the Gwlad Emrys Post:

"There is no way he can cling on after this. He's just lost all his authority"
