The President has been making his annual New Years Eve Statement:

"Dear all. It has been a remarkable year, full of highs and lows.

We started the year with our first stretches of motorway and rail infrastructure being built. A new dawn in our transport age. We formed a national bank and had our national currency approved. The Future looked exciting.

Then of course the Global War started. All we have worked for destroyed over 7 months. We had to close our markets, our growth figures plummeted to over -30% and thousands of citizens dead or injured in this conflict. I am more than happy to put these events behind us as we head into the new year.

So what is the plan now? What is our approach as we head into 2089?

We will rebuild better than ever before. Our markets are expected to reopen as soon as possible in January, with our existing infrastructure rebuilt in the next 6 months. We aim for a longer period of growth as well, with hopefully being able to be completely rebuilt and in fact growing again by the end of the year.

Our capital metro will take priority and will be fast tracked to completion this year. Also with inflation as an all time high, we will work to lower inflation and as a result halving interest rates by the end of the year.

The 3rd round of local elections will continue as planned in August. On a Labour Party point of view the nominations for the Presidential election will open in August and I will be deciding whether to run for a 2nd term as President.

Thank you all for the support over these difficult times. We will rebuild back faster than ever before."
