The President has announced that Gwlad Emrys is at war. Speaking from an ops room in a undisclosed location the President spoke to the public:

"I am sorry to announce that Gwlad Emrys is now at war. All existing infrastructure works will be terminated and all reserves will be called up. I can tell you all that this is a purely defensive war with our allies.

Stay in your homes. Stay indoors. Those in Caerdydd, the city is now under curfew with military patrolling. Do not cause trouble.

Due to this I have no choice but to delay next month's local elections. We will be monitoring and keeping the nation updated.

I can also note the 40% fall in the pound yesterday. We have taken action to close the banks immediately to avoid further economic turmoil. Please do not head to the central bank.

Stay safe and may we all rise up from this".

Analysis

The President made a landmark speech today announcing war for the second time with him as Prime Minister. He looked tired and worn out in the address. This frequency of wars raises many questions regarding the FA situation of the government and indeed the Social Party leader has tried to capitalise on this:

"The President is now in his 2nd war as President. It's become increasingly obvious that his FA decisions regarding membership and remaining in our current position has been damaging to this country.

I believe wholeheartedly that if we had a Social President we would not be in this mess right now."

Perhaps surprisingly, the leader of the Sawhists, Matshaa, has not come out in opposition to the President:

"I will of course support the President in this conflict, as I believe all opposition parties should. This is not the time for petty politics. I don't believe this war has been caused by FA issues by our President. It is completely out of control and something that happens if we remain a non-isolationist nation.

Anyone who attempts to argue that this is a political choice is mistaken I'm afraid"
