Rapid response teams burned alive by Molotov cocktails

KAESONG - After domestic terrorists hacked our scheduling system, all police officers were given a temporary 24-hour break. Suicide bombers then destroyed the 911 call centers throughout the city. Terrorists then leaked this information to the public, leading to “Hell Week” as the government struggled to restore control.

All police officers were informed they were given a 24-hour paid day off. Almost every officer believed the message, staying at home to spend their precious downtime with their loved ones instead. With no law enforcement to keep everyone in line, chaos broke out in the streets.

“It was chaos,” a survivor said. “People were looting stores, carrying expensive products. Government workers were lying on the streets, dead or dying, and nobody stopped to help them. RPGs were launched at the few emergency vehicles arriving.”

Cyber-security experts working for the Rasonian government cracked the encryption on a dark web message board where the insurgents planned out the attack. “It was very clear that this was an anti-police attack,” a spokesperson said. “The addresses of police officers were posted online so they could be lynched.”

Indeed, 57 police officers were found lynched outside their homes, their bodies showing signs of torture and mutilation while family members cried and begged for mercy. Military buildings were targeted as well, although the well-equipped military bases had no trouble defending themselves against the rioters, with not even a single

“This was a coordinated attack conducted by a large group of insurgents against the Rasonian People’s Army,” General Ramirez announced. “As such, this has been treated as an act of war.” Indeed, the government has declared a full-out war against The Silence, the organization responsible for this attack.

Dictator Justin Cheng warned other nations that this could be their fate if they went ahead with defunding the police or even all-out disbanding it. “The only way we finally managed to get things under control was through the very methods that activist groups despised: assault-style weapons, armoured vehicles, tear gas, rubber bullets, water cannons, brutality and numbers,” he said. “But the fact that it took a week to get things under control is unacceptable.”

New changes were made to the policing policies in Rason. The Police were assimilated into the Military Police, and now the Rasonian People’s Army performs the duty of regular police officers. “It can be scary to see black-uniformed soldiers with riot shields, T-72s and helicopter escorts patrolling the streets, but our priority is the safety of the people,” the head of a local patrol told concerned citizens before guerilla fighter rebels were wiped out of existence by a Hellfire missile sent from an MQ-9 Reaper drone flying above the sight of the naked eye.

At press time, the death toll from this event had just surpassed 4,500, and $2.4 billion in damages had been caused.
