This morning a operation was conducted by Regional Commander Col. Amoa Heart in which the 2nd and 3rd platoons, Company A of the 6th Battalion numbering 73 men in total assaulted a DRA warcamp in the far west of the Kata District of Dematu City. We are saddened to hear the loss of three soldiers Pte. Bediako Greene, Cpl. Awusi Smith and Pte. Osei Wellington in the operation. The operation was a vital success to the defence of Dematu reporting the death of thirteen confirmed enemy insurgents and one unconfirmed. The camp reportedly retreated north after around 10 minutes of continuous fighting leaving all but one fatal casualty.
