After the vote in Parliament, the government has decided to improve our emergency services. We now have the following services:
-South Ireland Fire & Rescue
-South Ireland Royal Police Force
-Ambulance Service
-Ireland Mountain Rescue
-Ireland Coastal Rescue
This list will now contain the following types of vehicles for the main 3 departments:
Police:
- Incident Response Vehicle
- Traffic Incidents Response
- Armed Response Unit
- Strategic Command
- Specialist Weapons Unit
- Criminal Investigations
Ambulance:
- Ambulance
- Rapid Response Vehicle
- Advanced Paramedic Response
- Infectious Diseases Ambulance
- Incident Command Unit
- Critical Care Response
- Emergency Medicine Doctor Response
Fire & Rescue:
- Standard Engine
- Aerial Ladder Platform Unit
- Rescue Response Unit
- Water Rescues Unit
- Major Crash Unit
- Fire Investigations
We have also introduced new acts/laws:
All road users must make a path for emergency vehicles, even if breaking a rule whilst doing so. If on the motorway, all cars must leave the far out lane. Failure to do so will result in an instant 2-year driving ban.
Ambulance Paramedics can treat you even if you deny it if they feel your decision making is compromised.
Fire Investigations can detain you until Police arrive if they believe you are involved in an arson or other illegal act.
Emergency vehicles can respond with lights and sirens if a life is in danger or an immediate response is needed.
