On the epidemic in the Arctic

In recent days reports of a deadly disease in the Arctic has been reaching European Nutella. The epicenter is the nation of Bjein, who furthermore claims the disease is the result of mad scientist Fer Monoj's 3rd attempt at bioterrorism. The disease supposedly has a 100% death rate with unknown transmission rates, symptoms present themselves very early on and include but are not limited to nausea, diarrhea, fever, loss of appetite and sore throat. Death occurs within 1 week of infection, as such the virus is deemed of medium-high threat if properly contained but could be considered extreme-high threat if not. Despite Bjein's claims of all nations being under attack no case was observed within European Nutella and other nations in The Fighting Pacifists. Furthermore scientists estimate the death rate to be lower than 100%, albeit still being high in the 80% at the minimum, while this death rate is certainly problematic and no cure is known yet it also means the disease could be eradicated quickly with proper containment procedures and a vaccination campaign. In order to aid the Arctic nations the government has approved the shipping of 50 units of NextGen Sequencing thermocyclers, 100 thermocyclers capable of RT-PCR and RealTime-PCR and 1'000'000 masks to the nation of Bjein in order to both contain the bioweapon, effectively screen positive cases and allow the sequencing of the bioweapon's genome in order to be able to develop a vaccine.

In order to avoid the entry of the virus within our nation the following restrictions to travel have been put into place:

Countries within the Arctic circle and with confirmed cases: Complete ban on all travel to, through and from these nations. Any individual found trying to circumvent this restriction will be detained on charges of attempted bioterrorism.

Countries with suspected cases: Travel is only allowed if strictly necessary for work, diplomatic missions or education, visa is required and extensive health checks are mandatory on arrival. Any individual found attempting to circumvent this restriction will be detained for 3 months before being deported.

Countries with no cases: Travel is allowed with a visa.

Countries in the Johnson sphere: Travel is allowed with the eVisa program already available.

Countries within The Fighting Pacifists: Visa-free travel is allowed.

All arrivals from foreign nations, as usual, will be physically separate from domestic travel routes in train stations, dockyards and airports.

All individuals will be required to provide a detailed description of where they have been within the week prior to arrival.

All individuals will be subject to temperature and health checks on arrival.

Restrictions, minus the visa requirement, apply to citizens and residents coming back from these countries too.

On Ayyslamic Terrorism

Reports have come from the friendly nation of the Gallian Federation that terrorist attacks have been performed within its territories as well as other nations around Orbis. These terrorist attacks have been traced to an extremist cell of the followers of Ayyslam. In order to contain this and the epidemic threats security within train stations, airports, docks and other points of interest has been increased. All Ayyslamic citizens are invited to report any extremist activity or propaganda being done within Mosques or outside of them, anonymity and witness protection are granted upon request and all reports will be quickly investigated. No restrictions will be put on religious practices. Travel to and from countries that are suspected or confirmed of harboring significant threat of Ayyslamic or any other forms of terrorism is banned.
