About Us

Originally, we were a gigantic city in a valley ringed by tall mountains, a prosperous civilisation cut off from the rest of Orbis, a planet embroiled in pointless war and strife. Our civilization was technologically and culturally advanced, and powered by energy from coal and oil.



As the decades went by, the fossil fuel reserves of the valley dried up. No longer having the energy to run them, our great machines started being abandoned at an increasing rate. The complex hydroponics systems, green industries and natural reserves fell into ruin as the people fought with starvation, civil war and rising crime.



Crude technologies and methods took the place of the once perfect city living in balance with nature. The valley was filled with choking smog denser than the heads of the corrupt, selfish leadership. Citizens were driven to exit the valley itself - breaking the centuries-long tradition and stepping into war-torn Orbis to find a living.



Yet even as chaos consumed the once great city, intelligent minds worked in secrecy to salvage it. What the Empyreans were to discover would change the fortunes of their civilisation forever. The Cataclysmic aether - an omnipresent medium that light itself used to travel - could be harnessed as an alternative source of energy. Daedalus could be rebuilt to its old glory again, with the help of Cataclysm.



The Empyreans, in their wisdom chose to lift true Daedalus from the polluted, crime-ridden Undercity in the valley. Roped to pillars created from a newly discovered metal and made to float to the heavens by the power of aether, the city rose in grandeur over the valley and the tall mountains, its greatness now visible to the godless warmongers of Orbis.
