Upon requests for party leaders to release their priorities, which are also viewed as the general platform briefs of their respective parties, we, the Lyonian National Press, have received the following statements (Note: Not every priority/policy is listed in these briefs. They are simply general briefings covering some of the most important priorities);

James Mikane - “We need to up the ante. Lyonia is nearly 10 and 1/4 years old as a nation, yet has been growing slowly over those years. With only 14 major cities, it’s time we began to focus on some growth for our nation and expand our presence internationally. We need a large standing military to discourage pirates, and keep our nation safe.”

Kyle Polorite - “Thoughts like those are exactly the issue; we don’t just need a slight withdrawal, we need a large withdrawal. It’s time to focus on the workers and citizens of Lyonia. Our population density of approximately 83 people per mile could be lowered if we built more cities and upgraded our infrastructure. We need to scale back our foreign investment. We don’t need a large standing military draining our revenue.”

Robert Dickinson - “Wait just a minute there. The economy of Lyonia is an exception to the rule; while thousands of other nations take out hundreds of millions or even billions of loans, taking on debt to fund their growth, Lyonia has been able to self-fund most of the growth we’ve seen. Anything extra comes out as a loan from the international Bank of Olympus, where our national revenue often goes. Let’s promote liberal policies and business subsidies to keep our economy booming! Lowering our standing military would be another great start towards recovering national revenue.”

Alexander Farthing - “Listen to all of this nonsense. We don’t need immigrants taking our jobs, nor do we need to collapse our foreign portfolio to help the workers. We need to up the generously low taxes for our alliance, so we can fund yet more growth programs. We need to institute some tariffs and work on producing more materials Lyonia needs, to reduce our need for foreign production. We also need to work on using revenue to combat the monopolies present in the business world; the fall of Taith was a major boon, but there are still others who stifle businesses. A strong military will keep us safe from foreign powers.”

Frederick Reish - “We’ve seen what happens when we take a chance on people’s words; our recent foreign investment in a certain stock cost us hundreds of millions. Isolationism will allow us to keep our culture, revenue, and jobs safe.”

John Dean - “Foreign trade and investment is fine. We just need to make sure our culture isn’t affected, and our jobs are safe. Minimizing immigration into the nation and placing high tariffs on foreign imports should do the trick. Working against conforming to companies like the Swing or their monopolies is another goal we could work on; if our home is protected, we can look outwards.”

Sandra Jaris - “We need to lower our alliance taxes. There’s no need for growth programs if our allies keep most of their revenue; loans from the Bank of Olympus or even the alliance bank will do.”

Harold Walker - “All of these arguments are really unnecessary... keeping a centralist and balanced point of view will ensure nothing ever gets out of hand.”

Kylie Oberfield - “The only way for Lyonia to truly grow is for us to go Communist! Take everything people earn and evenly redistribute it; it’s the only fair way. Doing the same for our alliance wouldn’t hurt, either.

Sergei Waltz - “Open immigration would help businesses quite nicely... immigrants work for less than civilians. Let the market regulate itself, and businesses use immigrants for cheap labor, and prices of goods will drop! Cost of living will decrease instantly. Obviously, a strong military to keep both foreign powers and domestic ones in check would be necessary...”

These are, again, just some of the policies held by each party. However, it is likely that these are the major determining policies that will be pushed, at least initially, by each party.
