BREAKING NEWS: The island nation of Korutsu became the third nation to officially declare war on the Land of the Shinkansen earlier in the day.

The war continues to advance towards the heart of Shinkansen soil as enemy forces have encircled the island.  Confirmed military reports state that a naval blockade surrounding the nation has prevented goods and supplies from reaching the mainland.  Large numbers of enemy soldier and tank battalions continue to accumulate in the outermost territories, with Nagato being the most recent prefecture to be overtaken by enemy ground forces.  Shinkansen ground forces have been met with this formidable opposition as air and naval forces attempt to alleviate the pressure of the three enemy nations gradually advances towards inland territory.  Tokyo prefecture opens emergency centers as refugees flood inland to escape the firefight.

Prime Minister racerclc has not made any official statements to the public ever since his early morning television appearance.  Governmental sources have stated that the prime minister is busy working diligently to fulfill his current role as the primary protectorate of the nation.  The public has eagerly awaited further updates from the prime minister; he is likely to make another public appearance within the coming days.

Some governmental officials, however, are not very confident in Shinkansen's chances of success in this war, citing the current blockade and the vast number of enemy troops as the main factors.  One military member, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated, “I don't want to lose hope just yet, but the hope that I do have is no longer strong.  Our nation is fighting practically alone on three fronts simultaneously; when you view it for what it is, the odds are currently stacked against us.”  However, the same individual also commented that despite large losses on the battlefront, there have been some notable victories, the details of which he claims are too confidential to be shared at this time.  “The possibility of victory against at least one of the three nations isn't zero,” he commented, “but the chances aren't high either.  At the very least, we'll be looking at devastating loss of life and months, or even years, of reconstruction, no matter if the war is ultimately won or lost.”

Additionally, as was expected by many, the initial assault against the Rose sphere has quickly blossomed into a conflict involving nearly every global alliance, with large forces from nations/alliances such as Oasis and Aurora joining the war within the past 24 hours.  This has prompted the Shinkansen government, as well as several other alliances and governing bodies, to officially recognize the current worldwide conflict as the Sixteenth Global War.
