A Question of Standing
A critical state meeting is currently taking place at the Chancellor's newly-repaired residence in Glatixburg. High-ranking military officers, various government department heads, and the Chancellor himself are believed to be discussing Glatixland's involvement in the Nukeyan civil war. In acknowledgement of the newfound uncertainty, the Chancellor ordered that airstrikes against the NNFA be temporarily halted.
Tom Newsky, the Chancellor's press secretary, had this to say:
"While Glatixland initially supported the cause of the SSR Nukeyan government, the state is deeply concerned about both the state of the war, and the consequences for Glatixian diplomatic efforts abroad. Igua-Sul and Glatixland maintain joint military assets, and the involvement of our Solista friends places things into perspective. Moreover, the state has received concerning reports that chemical weapons are being used by NPLA (Nukeyan People's Liberation Army) forces. Glatixland has long maintained a policy of 'fire not fumes' in our approach to war. Nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare are unacceptable in the eyes of the Glatixian government. Should these reports prove true, then they might sway Glatixland to mobilize in favor of the Nationalists."
Deliberations within the Chancellor's residence are reportedly extremely heated, with various instances of arguments escalating into violent confrontations between government officials. The head of the Department of State Diplomacy is said to have 'power-bombed' the Finance Minister through a wooden table, and witnesses claim that the Chancellor was seen drop kicking the director of the State Security Agency out of a second story window and on to the front lawn of the mansion.
