Only 6 months until the next election in Husen-Kurl (25th and 26th of September). Four parties are looking forward to gain seats dependent from a good election result. Who are these parties and what do they demand? This is an overview.

The Sozialdemokratische Partei Husen-Kurl (SPHK), the government party and therefore the arty of President Lukas Thiele, primarily promises to keep their policies from the last legislature period. They refer to the economic objectives they often reached and which they implemented themselves in 2070. In their election program they describe Husen-Kurl as an "emerging nation" which they now want to make "cleaner, socially fairer and more stable". The main points to achieve this are the following:

  1. The SPHK wants to invest more money into environmental protection. Every city should have a subway and enough recycling centers to decrease the pollution that Husen-Kurl's mining sector creates. Furthermore they want to invest in ecological national projects and put them "high up on the list of possible projects".
  2. The SPHK wants to keep its anti-nuclear weapon agenda and campaigns against them. They do argue about the lives they cost but also about the effects on agriculture, a very important sector in Husen-Kurl.
  3. The SPHK wants to establish a new tax. The " reserves tax " should be implemented and the money generated by it should be spent for resources in times of a crisis like the food crisis during global war.
  4. The SPHK is targeting to increase the Average Income of its citizens to achieve growth and prosperity. The commerce sector should be expanded and a minimum wage should be implemented.
  5. Furthermore they want to invest into public transport, healthcare, research and education.

At the moment polls see the SPHK at 55% which is the absolute majority but 30% less than in the election four years ago. In the last months the government couldn't improve its approval but they at least stabilized it.

The party following the SPHK with at the moment 25% is the Stabilitätspartei (SP). In their program they put stability and security on the main agenda which is no surprise as the party was founded from people unsatisfied with the government during two wars in Husen-Kurl. They demand:

  1. The SP demands to reduce the trade deficit Husen-Kurl had in the last four years. They describe it as " dangerous as it gives our money to nations which may be a threat to our integrity". They want to reduce the dependence on imports by building more farms or want to equalize the deficit by producing more export goods.
  2. "The expansion of farms can only be reasonable if farms are able to produce food" argues the SP. Therefore they want a stronger participation of Husen-Kurl in discussions about banning nuclear weapons. There must have been a real conflict before they wrote this into their program as parts of the party rather demand that Husen-Kurl should have nuclear weapons to defend itself.
  3. The SP wants more stable prices on the global market and in the nation.
  4. The SP demands to go through the alliance program to decrease alliance taxes on Husen-Kurl's economy. SoL would "guarantee safety to our nation but we never agreed to such economic participation and have a stronger military which should be considered if it comes to how we can contribute to the alliance".
  5. The SP wants to regulate the exports of munitions. The SP demands that munitions should not be allowed to trade on the global market but only to alliance members, allies and friends. They say that "this guarantees that no foreign, opposite power will benefit from Husen-Kurl's war industry".

The SP is seen as a conservative party with a few nationalist tendencies. Their voters are mainly conservatives but also citizens which are disappointed from the government's work.

The Greens stay at nearly 20%. In their program they focus on their main topic of environmental protection. Their key demands are:

  1. "Pollution should be regulated by law. Any pollution created by raw resource or manufacturing improvements must be cleaned up by subway and recycling centers. That means that only pollution created by stadiums, shopping malls, hospitals and police stations is allowed. This will lead us to a low pollution with a stable economy, safety level and healthcare."
  2. The Greens demand a better funding of social projects as well as more money for education. " Education is the key to a better future and in times of climate change and great scientific advancement indispensable" is the statement in their program.
  3. The Greens demand a reduction of nuclear power plants. They would produce nuclear waste that affects the environment. Furthermore it would "reduce our required imports of uranium and therefore our trade deficit". The power plants should be replaced by wind power plants.

The Greens have very similar objectives to those of the government party. Many experts think that some people vote for the Greens to force the SPHK into a coalition with them to provide better environmental protection. This plan does not work well until yet.

The Hispanic party (HP) represents a minority of Hispanics. In the last election they got 9,7% but because the proportion of the population lowered they only have around 3% at the time. The don't have a real election program. One of their demands is that every school in Husen-Kurl should provide Spanish lessons. Another one is that more money should be spent on history research. The HP doesn't have any real chances on a high result.

These are the four parties. The SP will probably get into parliament for the first time. It has been announced that the parliament will be enlarged from 30 to 90 seats after the election because the population increased rapidly and needs more representatives. We will study the election results in 6 months. Let's have an interesting campaigning!
