Tantum Bellum

It began in the waning days of February, with a colossal blast in the capital. A nuclear bomb had been dropped on Glatixburg by the regime of Doubtland (or something similar) in an attempt to terrorize the nation. Fortunately, most of the hundreds of thousands killed in the blast were civilians, leaving the military free to retaliate in earnest!

Naval and Aerial forces quickly began strikes against Doubtland, sweeping aside their defunct naval and air forces to deploy Glatixian troops across the enemy coastline. As expected from any nuclear power, Doubtland's soldiers put up a limp-wristed defense of their homeland, with Glatixlandwehr troops decisively crushing any opposition.

However, as operation 'Curb-Stomp' was in full swing, a secondary front was opened by the nation of Deathrattle. Unlike their predecessors, however, the Rattlese engaged Glatixian garrison forces man-to-man.

Seen right: A secondary nuclear strike on the besieged city of Shisahof.

As our brave troops waged a desperate defense of the city of Shisahof, a second nuclear missile was launched by the Doubtlanders. The city was leveled, causing widespread radio blackouts and mass confusion among those who survived the initial blast. Onlookers report the city as akin to a hellscape, with fires raging across the remaining buildings and clouds of irradiated dust spreading outwards in every direction.

Taking advantage of the blackouts, the Rattlese launched a massive assault against the Luftenfighten. Early warning systems were effected by the blast, and thousands of fighters were destroyed before they could be scrambled.

Despite the dire situation, the state has committed to continuing the conflict against both attackers. Hazmat suits are being distributed to surviving military forces, and orders have been issued to hold the line at all costs. Civilians not working in munitions plants are advised to remain in fallout shelters until the all-clear is given. Any foreign nationals that haven't been evacuated are to report to Katesville for naval escort.
