The Reunited States Creates New Power Armor Varient

The Reunited States, with its recent investment into R-28 Power Armor, has continued to upgrade and update the armor with different modifications to the armor to suit whatever situation may arise on the battlefield. The newest innovation is the R-28C which can absorb electrical energy and redirect it towards the enemy through a specialized weapon in the gauntlets of the suit or through a weapon that can be held as a rifle. The electricity would be redirected in what witnesses consider to be “a bolt of lightning”. The armor has been specially insulated to prevent the wearer from being electrocuted by the massive amounts of electricity that can exceed more than 500 volts. The rest of the armor has also been modified to allow for a HUD (Heads-Up Display), an upgraded gas mask, and all upgraded arm, leg, and chest armor made of durable, lightweight steel.

The official power source of the armor is still somewhat of a mystery. Specialists speculate, however, that it has something to do with the recently reactivated nuclear power plant in the Pacific States. Ever since the reactivation of the plant, it's been heavily guarded. The timing is very suspicious and many people have begun to notice the Federal and state troops surrounding the plant. Access to the area has been highly restricted and checkpoints have been set up in the surrounding area. The plans for the power source have been leaked and these sources have been nicknamed “Fusion Cores”. 

Fusion Cores work by miniaturizing nuclear reactor technology into a smaller temporary sustained reaction. The core is a yellow shell that has pores drilled into it to allow the nuclear power to flow through the circuits of the suit. The newly added electrical modifications allows for extra power storage for if the suit ever runs out of power. The core can reportedly explode in an explosion similar to that of a nuclear explosion but much smaller.
