Voting for the recently-created Lyonian Congress will be underway soon, as elections are in August. When asked as to why he made such a sudden start date, Lord Lysander commented, “Politics should be for those with ingenuity and intelligence. If a candidate gets elected to the 1st Lyonian Congress, they’ll have had to work for it.”

The lower chamber of Congress is the House of Representatives, with 1,600 Representatives elected nationwide (800 by the single-member-district-plurality system, 800 by proportional representation). The upper chamber is the Senate, with 800 Senators elected nationwide (400 by the single-member-district-plurality system, 400 by proportional representation). The House of Representatives will elect a Speaker who will decide ties in the House, while the Senate will elect a Consul who will decide ties in the Senate. The Speaker and the Consul both have agenda powers. Additionally, both chambers of Congress will meet and elect a Congressional Minister, who will work in both chambers to attempt to help legislation pass and be acceptable to both levels.
