“Committee Act for organizing the work of the Valyrian Congress” was unanimously passed by 687 Deputies.

This Act of Congress will create 23 permanent committees that will consider and vote on legislation related to their particular subject of expertise.

Today at the start of the 2nd session of the 2nd Supreme People’s Assembly the “Committee Act for organizing the work of the Valyrian Congress” was unanimously passed by 687 Deputies.


This Act of Congress will create 23 permanent committees that will consider and vote on legislation related to their particular subject of expertise. The President of the Supreme People’s Assembly Jaehaenar Tarnaeros spoke to reporters and said “This act is necessary to make the considering and passing of legislation more efficiently organized. It will also allow for smaller groups to focus on many different topics of interest without having the entire legislative branch having to examine one item at a time. The writing of legislation will be focused on by these committees. Each Deputy has the right to submit bills to the President of the SPA and then the President will pass the proposed bill to the committee it is related to for consideration and editing. After a committee approves a bill then it will go before the entire Congress and debate will commence. After the debate and every member of Congress has had their option to speak in support or against the bill then the bill will be voted on and if it passes it will then be submitted to the Triarch of the Valyrian Freehold and if he signs it, it shall become law and if he veto it then it shall return to the SPA with his objections noted and the SPA will then vote to override the veto.

Committee on Agriculture

Committee on Appropriations

Committee on Armed Services

Committee on Budget

Committee on Education

Committee on Labor

Committee on Energy

Committee on Commerce

Committee on Ethics

Committee on Financial services

Committee on Foreign Affairs

Committee on National Security

Committee on Intelligence

Committee on Judiciary

Committee on Natural Resocures

Committee on Oversight and Reform

Committee on Rules

Committee on Science, Space, and Technology

Committee on Transportation

Committee on Infrastructure

Committee on Veteran Affairs

Committee on Climate Change

Committee on Taxation


The committee‘a membership will consist of at least 25 members. Each committee will be led by a Chairman. The Chairman of each committee shall be appointed by the President of the SPA. No Deputy may serve as Chairman of more then two committees without approval from two thirds of the SPA. The President of the SPA will chair the Committee on Rules by default.
