[Because of multiple anomalies Rambaria has been facing (read: too much schoolwork), only now has the country had the time to get itself together and begin to show its television programming.]

[Right on the 8 o’clock mark, the show starts. The ads stop, and the long-awaited show starts]

Welcome back, everyone! This time, we’ll be going up and beyond to one of the most known people in the entirety of PnW! You’ve almost certainly seen him in your Messages tab. It’s the one and only God-san himself, the creator of Politics & War, and the only game developer we can stan. Alex!

Right, so cringy intro aside, here’s the interview.

What gave you the idea of Politics & War?

When I was pretty young (around 10) I started playing Cyber Nations. I got randomly banned in a weird incident where a moderator just went way above and beyond and so I decided I would try to make my own nation simulation game.

Did you ever join an alliance other than your current one (Admin Alliance)?

No, I've never played the game. The “Admin Alliance” was actually only recently made so I could test something.

Can you remember what your first war was like? How did you feel?

I don't really play the game, so I'm not sure that I can really say. Hopefully players find wars intellectually stimulating (the strategy behind it) and fun.

Do you have any advice for any of the relatively newer nations?

Join an alliance! That really helps you get started, learn the game, and grow your nation.

What's your favorite game? Doesn't have to be PnW.

I'm not great with favorites. I do like strategy games generally; I played a lot of Civilization 3 (and still do sometimes) back in the day.

What are your interests, besides PnW? Maybe drawing, board games, Game of Thrones?

I do like board games - I play those with my fiancee's family all the time. We're actually really heavily into Settlers of Catan and typically play weekly. Other interests of mine are woodworking - I'm still a novice but have been practicing with relatively small projects for the last couple of years. I do jiu jitsu classes, typically 2-3 times / week. In the summer, I really enjoy windsurfing and paddleboarding, as well as hiking and camping. This year I got out to try mountain biking a couple of times as well. In the winter I like snowboarding. I think that about covers it! I'm really into trying all sorts of new and different things - it seems like I never have enough time for all the activities I want to do.

(... holy snickerdoodles this guy has a life outside of being a game dev, AND is pretty active.)

And to round things up: Did PnW end up like how you imagined it in the beginning?

I think P&W did turn out fairly similar to what I imagined in terms of how it looks and plays. I have been just amazed at how popular it has been, though, and I never did expect it to grow this big or probably last this long. What started as basically a hobby for me in high school is now essentially a full-time job for me.

That’s it, everyone! Thanks for reading, and do leave a like or somethin’ if you liked the interview or learned something interesting.

P.S: Congrats on the fiancee/having a social life, God-san!
