MBC - As of recent in Mundusia, activists - who claim to march for better prison environments - have been getting rather rowdy. Some have started to block the streets to prisons, which not only holds up civilian traffic but also prevents wardens among other personnel from getting to their jobs and stations. Workers have also complained about the activists, who have also frequently blocked roads from Dakar to Thies and the surrounding area. Even with bicycles and other forms of travel - even on foot - the workers could seemingly not find another way other than plowing straight into activists. Of course, none actually tried this because then they would be in jail.

Eventually, on August 29th, activists blocked the way to the House of Senate and other government offices in the capital of Thies. President Kopington, who tried to get by the activists, had to resort to forcibly pushing the protestors out of the way. Even then, they would not budge and attempted to form an even thicker wall of people. This would anger the president into releasing five warning shots in rapid succession, which seemingly sent the activists scattering. Immediately afterwards, the Assembly and Senate discussed the issue with the president.

After this short emergency meeting, all parties came to the agreement that public protesting should hereby be declared illegal. The law, labeled the Jakob-Mason Law, is to be introduced officially tomorrow. Several sets of consequences have been attached to protesting, most notably being eligibility to hard labor, being forcibly sent to one of several developing areas in the nation, or death. This new law has, not surprisingly, brought protests to the capital. The protestors have insisted on camping out in the area around the government building.

One protestor, who has asked for his name to be not included in the article, stated that "the government won't do anything to harm us. I know this because all governments do this from time to time. Only a few actually act upon it. These guys are way too soft to do anything of the sort." One hour later, the protestors' "camp" site was raided by police, with several tents being engulfed in flames. According to the government, this was a final warning for protestors to leave before midnight. A large number of protestors left soon after, including the interviewed one.

|| State of Korpbyrg: Corporations Run Wild
The State of Korpbyrg has been created from the ashes of the demolished New Bermudan state as a beacon of uncontrolled Mundusian interests and capitalism.

MBC - New Bermudas, a rather good-willed Mundusian ally, has fallen to coalition forces with the lands of the former nation now irradiated and destroyed. In a somewhat desperate plea for corporate growth, Justicar Limited, a tech company based in Mundusia, asked the government to ask for the land. At first, it was laughed off as a silly idea - mostly because a large amount of ideas and processions were currently flowing through bureaucracy. However, it would soon become evident that this issue could not be simply brushed off.

Seemingly hearing news of Justicar Limited's plea, Haust-Bellman, a construction company, asked for the land as well. Following this, more and more of Mundusia's large corporate giants started to ask about or for the land. A coalition of sorts was formed with this large amalgamation of companies, all asking for allowance for operations in the land and such. Eventually, the government agreed to the large corporate demand for this land. In consultation with the GSC, the land was ceded to Mundusia - or more precisely the corporations - under some small terms that were laid down by the Republic of Greenland.

Corporate-paid prisoners were sent to the land in order to start base construction and survey the land. Settling on a name, prisoners agreed to call it Korpbyrg. Apparently, this name is starting to stick. Other nicknames have started to surface, such as the "land where the wind blows to waves" by some prisoners who do not speak the languages of Mundusia.

As of right now, prisoners have started to build some form of transportation systems and also monitoring irradiated areas for unexpected "coincidences". The project is led by Justicar Limited, who has started to provide the necessary equipment for a well-structured city on solid land. In its entirety, the project is estimated to cost nearly 30 Billion OBD (33.2 Billion Kranims). A large amount of company profits from many of the participants have since been poured into the project after this estimate was released to the public.

Many have started to complain that the project seems too artificial and too filled with corporate greed. In response, President Kopington stated "It's exactly what it looks like. I'm letting them run free in their own sandbox of sorts. I want to see how far they can go before something unfortunate happens. You have to see it from their eyes, as you have to give the consumer what they want. Sometimes you give them what they need. But never, under any circumstances, should the item not be tested. This is them testing it before it reaches you."

|| Salt Mining Sees Sharp Increase

MBC - Salt mining has long been a part of work culture in Mundusia. In fact, many who are unemployed find profit in the occasional salt mining - even though they don't want to work every day of the week. One could even say it has found its way into being a national pastime. Despite this, an unprecedented rise in salt mining has occurred this year. Even more surprising, it's a whole 10% higher than 2097's yield of salt - which was the largest amount of salt mined in Mundusia up to this point.

Richard Pitcairn Vincent, an experienced salt miner operating since 2090, states that the sudden increase shocked even him. "In all my years of mining this here salt," stated Vincent, "I've never seen so much mined. It's like people woke up to reality instead of sitting on their couches and wasting away. Oh goodness, how I do love it."

According to sources, there are many reasons as to why such a thing is. One attributes it to more criminals being caught, so that corporations could use them as hard laborers in their endeavors. Another attributes it to post-war influence from the 2nd Mundusian War, as to help "leaders of the house" protect their families. Officially, no one knows why this sudden interest has risen up to the minds of the Mundusian people. Another contribution is suspected to be solution mining, a new method of mining salt in Mundusia implemented last year.

The largest salt mining company in Mundusia, Salt Presidential - a jointly owned government ran company, has been recorded as having the highest yield of salt this year. Exports of salt are to be shipped to GSC nations upon their wishes with a 15% discount.
