Borders shutted with Thailand

Cruzeiro has officially closed its land borders with Colombia and Venezuela, and has suspended all flights to and from these Thai corporate colonies.

Decision comes from the National Congress after a majority vote in favor of such actions, deemed necessary by some notorious right-wing and conservative congresspeople, like Ramos Haroldo, affiliated to and head of the Christian Democratic Party representation in the legislature.

Since the legalization of production and distribution of weed, methamphetamine, coçaine and other harmful substances in Colombia and Venezuela, efforts to prevent the spread of illegal activities involving said drugs are being top priority.

Along with these straight actions, the state government of Amazonas, represented executively by governor Eduardo Nogales, has initiated an anti-drug campaign, particularly targeting the northern region.

According to Amazona's state secretary of Healthcare, they hope to discourage drug use among the population. This comes in response to the growing risk of narcotics trafficking from and to Colombia and Venezuela.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use and the legal consequences of its possession. It includes educational programs, public service announcements, and increased law enforcement efforts to combat drug-related crimes.

Drugs Seized in Border Cross Attempt, Reinforcements to be Sent

In a joint operation, MEC and the Riverine Fleet (Cruzeiro's Brown-water navy) has intercepted and apprehended a motor boat attempting to cross the fluvial border with Colombia carrying 130 kilograms of marijuana. The operation took place in the Négro river, a major tributary in the Amazon basin, where frontier authorities have been intensifying patrols.

The criminals on the vessel were seven Cruzeirans and other three immigrants, supposedly from Colombia. The packages are to be confiscated and sent to the local police for inspection.

Seeing the threat further consolidating with the presence of new Thai military units in Colombia, to meet the interests of national security, the Ministry of Defense, in conjunction with the Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, General Moraes, suggested an increase in the number of mobilized units in the border with Thailand. The Northern Military Command called for an additional 10,000 soldiers to be deployed along the border.

During a meeting between top members of the Armed Forces to discuss the Thai situation, one of the Liutenents present in the discussion openly criticized both Empresa Tailandesa-Colombiana and Thai American Corp, Sr. Paulo Abnácio stated:

"Once again, we have colonialists without the slightest sense of respect, that's right.. They have always been like this.. They use, abuse, destroy.. All for the good of the elite of the metropolis.. Thai colonial corporatism disgusts me, their actions not only harm the Colombian and Venezuelan people, but are also harming us.. Using fabricated lies that we are threatening them, all to justify their imperialist and oppressive acts.."

Nuclear Fallout Causes Snowfall in Natal

This morning, the city of Natal woke up surprised by an impossible phenomenon: For the first time in 500 years, since its founding by the Portuguese in 1599, snow is seen falling from the sky.

The not-so-natural event is clearly a result of the nuclear war between The United Imperium and Soviet Federation at the end of July last year. Faced with this extraordinary event, local authorities have been working to deal with the consequences and ensure the safety of residents.

The municipal government of Natal announced that the snowfall has significant impacts, especially on local transportation and travel. Streets and roads are slowly being covered with snow, making driving conditions extremely dangerous. Drivers are advised to avoid leaving their homes in order to reduce the risk of accidents and ensure their safety.

Additionally, nuclear snow may pose risks to public health, considering its radioactive nature from the fallout that headed south since the detonations.

The municipal health secretary of Natal warned that prolonged exposure to the particles and low temperatures can lead to problems such as colds, radiation poisoning, and hypothermia.

"It is essential that people protect themselves properly, using warm clothing and avoiding unnecessary exposure to the outdoor environment."

- Alerted municipal secretary Alexandre Guarulhos.

Nordeste state government has already dispatched humanitarian service teams and some units of the military police to assist the population of the city and other neighboring population centers, services such as distribution of food baskets, distribution of cold weather clothing, and general guidance are expected.

Companies and industries in Natal are also adapting to the situation, seeing that there is no foreseeable end. Some are adopting measures to ensure the safety and well-being of their employees. Flexibility in schedules, remote work, and special leave are being implemented to allow employees to face the climatic difficulty more safely.

Solidarity and community support have also played a crucial role in overcoming adversity, with state schools offering their accommodations temporarily to homeless residents, and charitable civilians assisting in the logistics of food delivery.
