May 10, 2099 KDU and NVS form governing coalitionLast Friday, 8 May 2099, the representatives of the KDU and the NVS agreed on a coalition agreement. The second black-blue federal government was sworn in yesterday, 9 May 2099, in the National Assembly. Old-New Chancellor Rahim Duke (KDU) will now serve his 4th term as South Germany's Chancellor. After the general election for the 6th South German National Assembly on 15th March 2099, the KDU and NVS have signed their joint coalition agreement after 2 months of negotiations. With 156 mandates from the KDU and 55 mandates from the NVS, the coalition reaches the absolute majority easily. That is a total of 211 out of 370 possible seats in the South German National Assembly, or 57.1%. The coalition agreement also regulates the distribution of the individual ministries, with 3 new ministries. The Federal Ministries for Research, Housing & Construction and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs & Senior Citizens are new.
