Last Friday, 8 May 2099, the representatives of the KDU and the NVS agreed on a coalition agreement. The second black-blue federal government was sworn in yesterday, 9 May 2099, in the National Assembly. Old-New Chancellor Rahim Duke (KDU) will now serve his 4th term as South Germany's Chancellor.

After the general election for the 6th South German National Assembly on 15th March 2099, the KDU and NVS have signed their joint coalition agreement after 2 months of negotiations. With 156 mandates from the KDU and 55 mandates from the NVS, the coalition reaches the absolute majority easily. That is a total of 211 out of 370 possible seats in the South German National Assembly, or 57.1%.

The coalition agreement also regulates the distribution of the individual ministries, with 3 new ministries. The Federal Ministries for Research, Housing & Construction and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs & Senior Citizens are new.
The distribution of all ministries is as follows: The KDU receives the Federal Chancellery (Federal Chancellor), Federal Ministries of Finance, Interior, Justice, Education, Research, Housing & Construction, Family & Senior Citizens, Agriculture, Transport and Environment. These are 11 of the 18 federal ministries in total. The National People's Party provides the following ministries: Vice-Chancellor (Deputy Chancellor), Federal Ministries for Economic Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Defence, Labour & Social Affairs, Health, Youth and Economic Cooperation. 7 of the 18 ministries. The coalition wants to achieve a "general restart of South Germany" with this agreement.

At the beginning of the session of the National Assembly on 10 May 2099, the national anthem of South Germany was traditionally sung. "Unity and justice and freedom for the South German fatherland! Let us all strive for this, fraternally with heart and hand! Unity and justice and freedom are the pledge of happiness! Bloom in the splendour of this happiness, bloom South German fatherland! Bloom in the splendour of this happiness, bloom South German fatherland!

National Assembly President Elisabeth Müller administered the oath of office to the new Federal Chancellor Rahim Duke (KDU) in the plenary chamber of the National Assembly on Sunday, 10 May 2099.
The oath of office reads: "I swear that I will devote my strength to the welfare of the people of South Germany, increase their benefit, avert harm from them, uphold and defend the Basic Law and the laws of the Federation, fulfil my duties conscientiously and do justice to everyone. So help me God."
Prior to this, the National Assembly had elected Rahim Duke as Chancellor of the Federal Republic of South Germany with 211 votes in favour, 151 against and eight abstentions.
