The DNSA Succesfully Launches Spy Satellites

An image of a spy satellite, for illustration purposes.

It's a huge accomplishment for the Dutch National Space Agency. About 5 months after it's foundation, the agency has succesfully launched it's very first spy satellite into orbit. The launch was already announced in february, but the rising costs in materials were the reason for delaying the project. The Dutch Republic made some large sales in resources though, and managed to accumulate enough money to complete the project.

This is only the beginning, as the Dutch will keep expanding their space capabilities in the future, as plans have already been set to launch more spy satellites on short notice, which will be vital in the war effort against Uchama and The Melon. This advantage is just another step on turning the Dutch Republic into a superpower, capable of spreading the ideals of democracy and freedom over the planet.

The current satellite in space will soon be put to use in the Dutch Republic's operations against The Melon, especially to track down Melonese forces and find weak spots in the defenses. The war support in the Republic is higher than ever, as it is clear that the Dutch Republic is on the winning side, and alongside it's allies it cannot lose.

Lang leve de Republiek!

Dutch Advances in the War Against France

 14-03-2099 | France

IMAGE HAS CORRUPTED

A map of the war in France, Dutch advances in light blue.

The war in France is progressing slowly, but the Dutch forces in the region have been making progress. Operation Havenstad has been very succesful, and it has resulted in the capture of Rouen and Le Havre. Our troops faced heavy resistance, but were demoralized after long artillery shelling and bombing raids. Reinforcements from Sedrosia are arriving to make sure the region is properly defended in case of a Melonese counterattack.

A lot of civilians were not evacuated by Melonese troops, and many have died in the bombing raids. This was unbeknownst to the Dutch forces, who were told by their enemy that all civilians had been evacuated. The lack of intel has been a huge reason for the lost life, and President Visser has apologized and expressed his deep condolences towards the victims and their families.

The survivors have been provided with medical care, in hastily set up refugee camps around the city. It is planned to move these civilians deeper into occupied territory, as to guarantee their safety. Free food, clothes and other vital supplies are being handed out by the Dutch Red Cross and other medical volunteers, and the people of the captured cities have expressed a mix of anger about the bombings but gratitude about the liberation from the evil Melonese regime.

The Dutch divisions in the Melon will continue fighting the enemy forces, now being able to shift to an offensive "hit and run" focus with the intel provided by Dutch satellites. Hopefully, this war will end soon and peace can be restored to the continent of Europe, which has become a hotbed of war.

Map of the Transvaal Republiek, the independent state in Dutch South Africa.

The Dutch South African holdings have been granted independence recently, after a request from the local people. After some short negotiations, the Transvaal Republiek was proclaimed, which has already established warm relations with the Dutch Republic. The signing of the Treaty of the Transvaal took place on the 18th of February, 2099, and the new government took over the day after.

The Dutch military will stay in the region for 5 years, as to protect the newly independent republic from foreign and internal threats, and an MDP between the 2 nations has been signed. The Transvaal Republiek has also ordered 3 Goudsbloem class destroyers from the Dutch Republic, which will be produced and delivered over the coming years.

Treaty of the Transvaal:

The Dutch Republic will:

- Hand over the full sovereignty of Dutch South Africa over to the Transvaal Republiek.
- Donate an undisclosed amount of military equipment to the new Transvaal Republiek.
-  Maintain docking rights in South Africa.
- Keep Field Command "Fortuyn" (82,000 troops) in South Africa for 5 years, for the defense of the new state.

The Transvaal Republiek will:

- Receive sovereignty over Dutch South Africa.
- Promise and protect Dutch docking rights in the region.
- Promise to treat the people of the region with respect, and protect the Dutch minority in the country.
- Promise to return the territory to the Dutch Republic on the collapse of the nation.

Signed by President of the Dutch Republic: Luuk Visser.
Signed by President of the Transvaal Republiek: Koos De La Rey.
