Trenchland begins 'self-sufficiency program'.

Over the course of yesterday and today, the government has started to work on their new project, dubbed 'Project Self-Sufficiency'. This was after many experts said that the nation cannot rely on trading forever, especially in wartime.

The government, with support from King Tangly and citizens, launched a long=term plan that would keep the nation supplied for days if it was cut off from trade in war. Just yesterday, the first city to carry the project was founded: Dunesworth. Instead of a commercial or military hub, it would focus on mining iron, which in turn would be made into steel in Dunesworth's budding steel mills. In-fact, Dunesworth, despite only being a mere 24 hours old, has already become the largest iron and steel producer in Trenchland!

The government says that its first course in the project was to massively increase its iron mines and steel mills, as, for 99% of steel in Trenchland, was traded overseas. And if we were blockaded in war, we'd run and of steel in a matter of hours, unable to manufacture ship, tanks, and ultimately lose the war. It would also save millions of money in the long-term, as we won't have to pay for goods imported from abroad. 

After Dunesworth, we'll also get some other new manufacturing powerhouse hubs being built, each one on a specific resource, e.g.. Dunesworth: Iron and Steel. Trenchland will probably manufacture some coal, to sell abroad and gain more money. The government also wants to increase the number of farms, as food levels has been depleted, and yet again, being imported from abroad. This will most likely be just one of the few projects that the government will do to save Trenchland from it's crippling economy after the Elysium Wars. Although many experts believe that this project alone will cost 100 million money, at least!
