Now that the military has managed to somewhat restore order in a few places, relief camps have been set up not only to provide radiation poisoning treatment but also to provide safety from the fighting between militants that has erupted across the country. As mentioned before, the camps will provide medical treatment as well as food, water, and shelter. They will also be guarded by armed military personnel.
Although these camps will provide some relief, there are still millions of people who are in areas under the control of rebels. There have also already been thousands of deaths from radiation poisoning due to the government, and military's slow response. Casualties from radiation are unknown, but estimates range from as low as 3,000, to as high as 60,000.
Due to a desperate need for more military personnel to run these relief camps, enforce the law, put down insurgencies, and many other things to help restore order, all able-bodied adults between the ages of 18 and 45 have been drafted into the confederal military.
