Dear ladies and gents and fellow readers

has it not been rather hectic this week? With all the shenanigans going on in the land of theatre's and actors and stars...

We have seen the release of the film about the golden king McLagan who, ruled like a tyrant, burned most of his council at the stake, and hated onion pies.

We have seen Shakespeare being "ripped apart" by Peter Bird at the great globe theatre . where apparently the "worst ever" production of Romeo of Juliet was put to stage.

and now we are to see in the coming weeks a bizarre  film about Jorgen Of The Empire Of Star Galactic. Who is Jorgen? well if you are a comic fan you shall indeed know. He is perhaps the most odd and least mentioned "semi hero" that most have termed "mediocre". We can only hope that the dismay that awaits us will not be so that people walk out of the theatre .

this printed meme went viral after London discovered how bad the recent musical Romeo and Juliet was. These posters were allegedly  even sent to the actors and actresses who were involved with suggestions they should quit the profession for insulting the beloved playwrite.

with all this happening right now...could it be possible that something could save our london audience from getting mental and emotional constipation from having to sit through awful productions?  could it be possible that somehow ... a genius director sits somewhere ready with his magic wand, looking pitifully down at us enduring Romeo singing the cringe "ill make thee a princess of the stage" ?

When we hear the name Richard Lettace, we know that things are about to get good... really good.

so when we heard it this week... all theatre fans, myself included, were smiling. The man is a theatre and movie production genius. He is a hero of film and his ability to create glittering elegant and convincing productions are old news to mostly everyone in London society and even the continent.

This week it was announced that Richard Lettace was planning to make a film about none other that King Meriwether and his marriage to Queen Rusalochka

In London the name Lord Meriwether is infamous. He is perhaps one of the most  mysterious, sort after and powerful gentleman in the kingdom. he was heir to his own island ... (his father was king)... and this was until he married the queen from the western isles (who is perhaps least well known)... after the marriage he took over both her island and his own as a matter of the way succession works in York.

This perhaps has caused some of the biggest disagreements and anger amongst political movements and factions in both the western isles as well as the mainland's of Scotland and even both southern and northern Albion.. Even leading to somewhat of a noble rebellion. .  For those on the left wing... it cannot be accepted that a woman in power has given away her position of monarch to a man. and for those in the right they are in support of the king and his new throne and the way in which he got there.

to cut  a long story short... Meriwether unexpectedly and almost out of the blue decided to break off his engagement with his current mistress on the mainland and suddenly took a boat to the isle of Lewis and Harris. It was announced before his arrival that he was to start "courtship" with the Queen Rusalochka.

They married just last Christmas, just the December gone past. And now it is said they enjoy "peaceful and old fashioned married life".

"I am just a man... a simple man" the king was quoted to say to the king of old east Slavic (who was an attendee at the balls in york).

in Gorden bluerdeflours  book "The coldest gentleman"... there is a depiction of the king Meriwether with long silver hair *the king has dark hair in real life... so this was an interesting depiction of him.

Richard Lettuce will be making a biopic about them, it is said.  Apparently according to him... "the romance is perhaps one of the most beautiful and epic that has graced real life... it is a fairytale in real life....I am happy to be making such a film based on a true love story"

How will he make the film? it is not known... Some say that because of his wonderful individual style he may make it completely different to how a usual love story is made... Some say that because he emphasises the fact it is a fairy-tale the man will make it in a more traditional sense, celebrating the old fashioned ways of filmmaking.

"it is a very beautiful romance. The king Meriwether is like a villain in some respects, but I feel the queen has humanised him and made him more of a gentleman in our eyes. It is said he treats her with the most tenderness, even though he is a bit stern, according to some insiders... but that's what makes it so romantic... he was the evil king and love has softened his heart.  I think lettuce has really picked a gem with this story. It has the potential, if done correctly, which i have no doubt Lettace will achieve... to be the greatest love stories of all time."

This is what Polly Locksand film critic and editor of The Columbian Express  told London Times on the subject of the new film. She spoke in a spirited manner and it seems many have the same positive and agreeable outlook on the film.

Some others have opinions however that because the king is such a dark villainous character... they feel that making a love story about his romance or "exploits'' will only serve in the romanticisation of a "toxic misogynistic and digressive relationship"

Lucy Mclaedinfools criticised the decision to make the film into a romance...

"It will make him look like a knight in shining armour that came to save the poor lonely queen who is devoted to him for no logical reason. I mean he is the typical rich, powerful stereotypical bad boy who picks on an innocent young girl.... the theatre and movie companies love to sell this kind of conservative stuff to audiences who buy into it. This old trope of beauty and the beast, Jane Eyre; the male lead serving as both fairy godfather and prince and wicked stepmother all in one.. Its always sadly going to be this kind of "hot stuff" for movies goers to be encouraged to see.... and then they see it... and i guess it effects the younger generation with toxic views of masculinity and set behaviours that a women needs to be taken care of and dependent of a man...

this is infact a true story between the king and queen... and sadly instead of being celebrated as "the greatest romance of our time"... it should be understood that allowing a bad boy to take over your life and become the reason for giving up your 9-5 job...  should not be seen as a woman's ideal goal in a progressive society..."

Queen Rusalochka which translates from Russian to Mermaid queen...faced major criticism for her decision to give up being queen and allow her husband to take power.

All in all there is a lot of speculation, discussion and more to come about how the film will be made.. where it will start and where it will end, if it will show married life or if it will just show the courtship and such.

historical accuracy is a major factor that is heavily praised when it is present... Richard Lettuce, by deciding to make the film,  sure does have a lot of pressure on him to deliver a film that will please most audiences and at least not completely disregard the views of others.

overall, it cannot be perfect we realise...but nevertheless... this perhaps is the most important production that he has ever and will ever work on so far.. this cannot be denied.

Lettuce gave a statement on how he feels about these pressures to deliver

"yes indeed... I knew that the romance has been hot topic as of late and even before.. I guess for me it makes it all the more exciting. I want to achieve in making it ... to really enrich it, and when there are so many opinions, so many thoughts around it,  well; I guess I have a soft spot for working under those conditions... but of course Getting upset when people get angry and have other opinions, as a director and man in the limelight most of the time... I can't let that get to me. I make movies, I do it my way, and I don't judge myself according to the political climate at the time, if I did then I could never make  proper film and with this film,  like all my films, I want it to be proper."

some have even suggested that it could be an animated film...although this is highly unlikely ... this hasn't stopped fans from entertaining the notion with light hearted  and rather cheesy art such as this.

Portrayed of His Majesty King Meriwether of The Western Isles and Lord of the Isle of York

Here in London we are indeed very curious to see what type of epic biopic will be made about these two. No pressure Mr Lettuce!

The King William Cunedda of Gwynedd, no longer Madagascar, would like to send an emissary to fellow British compatriots.
