Today the president of our nation has announced that the Ministry of Interior, specifically in relation to the police services, budget will be increased by almost twice its current budget. Despite the looming recession, coupled with the fact that the government has taken several loans, the state claims to have accumulated the resources necessary to proceed with this action.
The police service of the People's Republic of Nexiren has officially only an estimate of 46 000 members in its rank. The money will be used to increase employment targets(60 000 by 2098), upgrade aging equipment(with both foreign equipment and some improvements to current equipment), and provide over 40 military jeeps to the police.
Around the same time the Nexiren Internal Agency has announced the arrest of the well-known Billionaire, Jan van de Merwe, for alleged ties to the illegal terrorist group(the Patriots), corruption, and treason. His company, which has subsidiaries in several electronic companies[since he owns a cellphone company], has been partially nationalized. The new CEO and director has publicly released a statement on the situation and claims the government had "illegally fabricated" evidence on Jan.
