EconMundusia | After nearly a two-year long planning process and countless discussions, the Senate has finally approved Mundusia's transition from extremely protectionist trade policies to largely neo-liberal ones. Trade is already being set up with other countries of the world in efforts to start off strong in the global economy. Salt, food, phosphate, and gold are expected to be the nation's top exports by the end of 2100.

The Port of Dakar, ever since the announcement was made, has been flourishing. Along with this, the nearby city of Dakar has also been flourishing due to its port. A relatively large number of businesses are expected to be built soon in Dakar, along with some expansion from the businesses in the capital of Thies. Even the most eastern parts of Mundusia are receiving the benefits from this. Mainly of which are communes and plantations, which will most likely provide a large part of the agricultural export percentage.

With Mundusia's new foundation in global trade, many economists now have their sights set on the nation. Initially, Mundusia was expected to have a failing economy with little to no possibility of recovery. However, Mundusia has defied these graphs and charts and is currently building its economy. Albeit slowly, Mundusia has grown in influence over the last few years. As such, it is possible that Mundusia may become an economic superpower in the near future. However, there is no telling as the future can be unpredictable at times.

President Kopington, in a speech announcing the move to global trade from protectionism, stated that "Mundusia, as a nation, has moved far and wide. We have glided ourselves from war to peace, and now we glide ourselves from isolation to communication. Our trade initiatives will prevail in a global stage, no matter what or whom says otherwise! This is for Mundusia, for the people, for our flourishing land. Our economic uprising shall be remembered[...]"

Mundusia has since been looking for official trade partners. Opportunities are now rising in Mundusia.

Cartel Eradicated By Border and Territorial Patrol

 NATIONAL - CRIME

EconMundusia - Eastern Border | A cartel, of which was not named, was recently completely eradicated by the Border and Territorial Guards after a nearby transport truck was attacked.

The incident happened near the city of Naye, where reports show that the cartel had been terrorizing the civilians of the city. During a daily patrol, the Border and Territorial Guards dropped by the city. The cartel members, supposedly foreign, believed that the guards were just more innocents.

The cartel then attacked a transport truck containing explosives, killing the driver and the passenger. One of the truck's stray tires nearly killed a member of the Border and Territorial Guards too.

After this act of aggression, the cartel surrounded the guards, wanting to loot whatever they had on them at the time. However, they were quickly met with gunfire. According to sources local in the area, the leader of the cartel was also there and was the first to be killed.

Supposedly out of loyalty and anger, the rest of the cartel attempted to kill the patrol teams in the area. This proved to be their last fatal mistake, as, within the time span of twenty minutes, the cartel was completely wiped from existence. Only their bodies remained, buried in the sands.

After the incident, the Border and Territorial Guards stated that they will start "patrolling more aggressively". Residents along the eastern border have since claimed that their cities and towns feel safer.

EconMundusia | President Kopington has officially signed off on a bill which will contribute over Ꝁ$3 billion in loans to transportation system building and transportation research.

This comes after concerns were voiced by over a million citizens, stating that the current transportation systems are lackluster. For example, trains are running over an hour late in some cities, and sometimes use the incorrect scheduled route. Also, some living in the eastern regions claim that they do not have a local train and have must travel to as far as Kaolack to board one.

Along with this, some have complained that they do not have clear access to ATMs at the station when needed. This is for train fare among other things such as common commodities.

The bill was created by the Senate no less than ten days later and was finally passed yesterday.

The State of Mundusia Official Railways System is also expected to undergo massive renovation, expansion, and hire more competent employees. Both conductors and other workers are expected to be on their best behavior until then.

The loans do not just apply to trains, but also aeroplanes and cruises.

MundusiaAir has long been declining in both service and profit, but hopefully these loans will change it so that the opposite is present. Coupled with Mundusia's new initiative for more international relations, many are wondering if the company will take off once again.

Many of the cruises of Mundusia have also declined in service. These loans are expected to help them substantially with their future endeavors.

EconMundusia | As of recent, Mundusia has gained the nickname "the immigrant heaven" due to its relatively easy immigration process along with settlement funds.

After the abolishment of immigration quotas and the establishment of visa-free immigration by the Kopington Administration, the immigrant populace of Mundusia seems to have grown steadily.

Seemingly so, these immigrants have flocked to the capital and surrounding cities. Most of the mentioned immigrants are from countries of the third world, wanting to live a better live in Mundusia.

They have integrated quickly into the Mundusian lifestyle, taking to the markets and forming their own communities inside of their cities. The religious and cultural tolerance present in Mundusia also makes for a welcoming feeling within.

Settlement funds for immigrants were also recently set up, which are designed to help struggling immigrants with finding homes and providing for their families for at least six months. This, too, has been associated with the growing immigration rates.
