Nova Rijeka is a megalopolis that was established in 1765., in the colony of Novum Illyricum. At beginning a small fishing town, it quickly grew to a large city and epicenter of trade in the region. During industrial revolution city entered its golden age, as being an international and regional hotspot for trade meant it would rapidly industrialize, attracting people all across the country.

Besides being wealthy, city is also famous for its military history and armada that dominated Indian ocean for centuries (and still does so to this day), but also for its role in Indo-Slavic wars of 1821. and second world war.

During world war two Rijeka played essential role in manufacturing military equipment and naval vessels for colonial navy, what resulted in complete destruction of Italian war fleet and Illyrian annexation of Eritrea after the war, lifting Illyrian prestige to the heavens and ensuring that our nations role in struggle for freedom remains forever remembered and celebrated.

Today, Nova Rijeka is still a powerful and rich city with great cultural importance to the Illyrian nation, but it faces a big problem. Despite being an industrial powerhouse, majority of Illyrian population moved on to work in tertiary sector, while native Indians (often migrants from poorer parts of the country) came to work in industry in search for a better life. This resulted in growing tensions between two sides, especially as crime started to thrive in poorer areas of the city and natives became second class citizens.
