DEAN KARLOSTE RUNS CAMPAIGN EARLYPOLITICS & PARTY DAILY INTERNAL POLITICAL REPORT - Dean Karloste, our Liberal Democratic Party candidate for the 2100 Presidential Elections, has apparently started his campaigning early. He was spotted in Nova Rufisque, just yesterday, handing out flyers and making local speeches. These speeches were aimed against the radical factions in Mundusia that plague the nation so horribly. According to reports from around and inside the region, Mr. Karloste was highly welcomed by residents. The mayor of Nova Rufisque also welcomed Mr. Karloste.
MUNDUSIA OBSERVES AZALAICULTURE & RELIGION PRESERVING CULTURE - The government has recently passed the Second Native Appreciation Act, which is focused on preserving native culture. This comes after several parties of the Democratic Bloc in Mundusia petitioned the government for this. President Karl Kopington eventually folded to the demands and announced the signing and passing of the act. Now that the act is finally passed, the native Tuareg people may finally carry out Azalai. After being spread out and diasporic due to the Global Balkanization, they have partially lost their culture among other things. However, a grand portion of the modern Tuareg population has found their way to Mundusia. With them, some had brought some preserved culture passed down through generations. One such piece is a map of the Azalai salt caravan route from 1985, which is now considered a national Pre-Balkanization artifact. Most have already organized in caravans and started their journey to the Timbuktu-Taoudenni area. They plan to bring back large amounts of salt from the area like they used to. Many see this as the first step to completely integrating native groups into Mundusia. This includes LDP leadership, which overlooked the passing of the Second Native Appreciation Act.
RIOTS START IN ZEFVERESTENATIONAL ATTENTION - RIOT "WE THE POPULACE" - Riots have sprung up in the province of Zefvreste due to Caesar Andaman's reluctance to lower tax rates and abolish the flat tax. Starting with simple peaceful marches, the situation only escalated further over time. Eventually, police started to use rubber bullets to quell the protest. Not soon after, police, too, started to protest and even allow these riots. The rioters' motto is "we the populace", apparently signifying that every person is affected. This is, evidentially, true in a sense. Streets have been occupied by rioters, and banks are being burned in the provincial capital of Rosuen. Stores have been raided by riot groups, and total anarchy is underway as well. Provincial Premier Andaman has asked the central federal government to help destroy the riots. However, this was ultimately and unanimously turned down by the Senate in a vote of 355-0. This has left only those loyal to Andaman to protect Zefvereste. Even then, their numbers are dwindling by the day. Many parties in Mundusia, including Andaman's own Federalist Party, has supported the riots in the province due to the insanely high tax rates. In a response, Andaman stated that "the taxes are all for the good of the province. If you can't pay for it, then leave the province!" This has, expectedly, only made the rioters madder and more intent on stripping Andaman of his position. They plan to replace him with, coincidentally, a member of the LDP who had a hand in organizing the riots.
PRESIDENT KOPINGTON AUTHORIZES EEZ DEVELOPMENTECONOMY MARITIME OCCURENCES - A marine research team recently found a large reserve of minerals, among other things, all in the Exclusive Economic Zone. This has brought extremely high interest to the once desolate area. Many companies that involve themselves with the exploitation of natural materials have reached out to President Kopington to authorize their presence there. President Kopington, who plans to eventually fully open the Mundusian economy to global trade, has allowed this to happen. Since gaining this permission, at least five companies have brought back almost 500 pounds of minerals and other resources per two weeks on average. The mass extraction of these resources has brought a relatively great deal of prosperity to Mundusia and created 24/7 activity in the Port of Dakar. Some environmentalist groups, though, have collectively voiced their anger at the extraction. George O'Nille, leader of the environmentalist coalition, stated that "these resources should not be tampered with, especially by these large companies. It is evident that these companies have no stopping sense when carrying out these operations. Therefore, these resources are at risk of running out quickly. We beg the government to install a mining quota before it is too late." According to recent reports, President Kopington is considering this. However, no other information is known.
