Provincial Premier of Zefvereste, Caesar Andaman, Nearly Assassinated By Gunman

At 7:00 PM on May 30th, Provincial Premier Caesar Andaman was giving a speech encouraging more people to join the Federalist Party of Mundusia. During the middle of his speech, he was interrupted by a question by the now identified Schalen De Hacklines. The mentioned question asked the following: "Does the Federalist Party also encourage the dissolution of the corrupt and evil Mundusian Democratic Government?" Astonished, Premier Andaman stuttered before a bullet grazed his right shoulder - fired by De Hacklines. De Hacklines then quickly rushed up onto the stage. Another bullet was fired and hit Premier Andaman's abdomen. 

Provincial Premier Caesar Andaman defended himself by pulling out a pocket knife, which was used to stab De Hacklines 8 times. Bodyguards rushed up to the stage and the spectators started to jump on De Hacklines. Provincial Premier Andaman was quickly taken to the nearby hospital. Spectators also helped carry the Provincial Premier. De Hacklines's body was left on the scene for police to investigate.

The incident, as written above, was discussed nationally after the news got out. De Hacklines was identified as a member of the underground Anarchists and Liberators of Mundusia. The group had not been acknowledged at all by the Mundusian government or the general populace. Now, with the attempted assassination attempt, they are more than just in the public eye. The issue has been brought to the Armed Forces of Mundusia, and they are currently contemplating on the destruction of the relatively small group. However, some have asked to show leniency on those who are actual activists and wish the best for the populace of Mundusia in the group without causing a scene.

Recovering Provincial Premier Caesar Andaman has insisted, however, that no leniency "not even an inch" be shown to the group. "Look what they've done to me. Hospitalized me, confined me in this room. You think they're just going to disband immediately after you show them this 'leniency'? They'll just reform and rebrand, which is why we need to eradicate them now." These statements were approved of by the majority of the populace, including many here at the Mundusian Advertiser who had been through many civil conflicts throughout their personal history. The minority who do not agree wish for peace and prosperity with as little military intervention and violence as possible. As of right now, it seems as if the majority is conducting the political processes of democracy and pushing the Senate and President Kopington to do something.

President Kopington has responded with the following statement during his monthly "Address To The Nation" speech:

"[...]Concerning Premier Caesar Andaman's attempted assassination, we too are astonished and stunned by this claimed 'Anarchists and Liberators of Mundusia' group. We have no words, and we could not find a motive behind this mindless attempt at shattering a life into pieces. Thankfully, Mr. Andaman is doing okay in the hospital. We are still discussing what to do against this group. The most likely course of action that is foreseeable will be the total eradication of all its members that do not leave by June 20th. After this date, we will siege their property regardless of willingness by the group to cooperate or not. We see this as a threat to out democratic sovereignty, and will approach it as such."
