Preface

Welp, if you were on Ruddock yesterday, you know what happened and what I agreed to as… “necessary consequences for my cumulative actions”, I’ll call them.

That night due to a combination of annoying factors, including but not limited to the aforementioned events, the weather, a dog that was irrationally afraid of said weather, my own messed up brain, and probably a million others besides, I got virtually no sleep last night. Add to that the fact that I realized I haven’t posted a proper full-length bulletin in like a week, thus necessitating massive context, and I realized I just didn’t have it in me to write a full bulletin series like I originally planned.

So I’m just going to post 1 big bulletin, seeing this from the perspective of a historian looking back, as due to the nature and temporal span of the event I consider it impractical to write in the present tense.

Without further ado, I present: the collapse of Raritania

After MMC began to lose stock, the company collapsed. With the collapse of the mining industry, other industries soon followed, and the economy as a while caved in. Raritania was hit especially hard, not only due to domestic effects but due to sanctions for its many controversial foreign interventions.

Mass riots began to break out. A full-scale rebellion broke out in the MWAR, which proclaimed to return to the HAE; the financial strain of this prompted Raritania to sell the DPAR to Kolakia both to pay for the costs of attempting to crush the rebellion and to prevent further costly riots in the area.

Bedlandic nationalists then rose up in the north, attempting to impose a communist Bedlandic regime. This posed a threat to the core territories, so Raritania was forced to withdraw from Ohio and Michigan and let TUI decide where these territories would go. To fund the forces against the rebellion, Raritania has sold most of its western territories; Colorado to Novist, Arizona to Cyberia, and all of Utah except Salt Lake to Cascadia (if he wants it; if not, I’ll give it to someone else or to TUI directly)

Raritania was also forced to cede its overseas lands in exchange for guarantees of independence, in its weakened and crisis-ridden state.

To combat the communist threat, Raritania agreed to an unprecedented step: democratization. Together, the Democratic elements and the rightist elements defended against the communists, and agreed to a ceasefire agreement; a Raritanian-led, moderate right republic with elections every 4 years (the next is to be held in 2100) and local freedom of politics, allowing bedlandic communist local governments to appear in the north.

In OOC words:

Ohio and Michigan (sans Isle Royale, owned by the microstate of Superior) are going to HAE. All my land in Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina goes to Kolakia. My overseas territories are relinquished but go to nobody in particular (id prefer Iceland and Gothenburg stay free for new players or Surriland). Arizona goes to Cyberia, Western Colorado goes to Novist, I’m still waiting on Cascadia’s response but I offered most of Utah to him. I am now a democracy, and this is going to come with a constitution that limits my ability to intervene abroad. For now (2096-2097) my foreign policy will be basically decided by TUI, and he will still have a say in everything afterwards.

If you’re like “no, I didn’t buy your stuff, I took it”, that may be how it went OOC, but this is how I’m fitting it in the lore. I actually planned in having a civil war during the economic collapse anyway, I just didn’t plan on giving up like half my North American land and all my overseas stuff.

My land is now PA, NJ, NY, and New England.

Oh, and Delaware is unvoided. Might make a short story bulletin about the absence of Delaware lol.

I will be taking a break of about a week or two from RP. I will still check in but I don’t plan on posting. I am probably going to continue not posting for another week-ish after that, but because I’ll have to edit all the nation info that I just spent a week making.

Lastly, I’d like to apologize to Ecuador, OOC. I should have coordinated that rp with him at least, and probably not done it at all.

Actually lastly, id like to ask Victoria, Britain, Mundus, and those like you how you get all those neat formats. I’ve been wanting to do that for a while, and I want to improve my quality, both in the content and the delivery thereof.

Thank you, TUI, for reviewing this. (The last 2 paragraphs were included after the review btw)

Also note: technically, the events of this bulletin are not yet concluded. The processes described here will basically continue until I announce that they have reached the endpoint described here.

On Neat formats: the neat formats you see are mostIy using tabIesdcf35f9a217f7e607f522d255bdd49a885d6e07c1920x38243.png

You can use them however you Iike but heres two cases which use more than one cell

Mundusia uses 3 centraI coIums and makes them vary in width, etc to create a nice newspaper feeI

Victoria uses 1 centraI coIum with a Iot of rows so he can add Iines and whatnot between his stories in the buIIetin,

You can add or remove borders of the ceIIs, make them the same color as the background of the cell to remove them, etc - In Victoria's case in the past he's used dotted lines to seperate individual stories

one cell can work just as well too

  • Theres a lot more potential for designs with tables but its kind of wacky and because the bulletin editing format isn't the same as when you're reading it its hard to make a complicated table design

I will be sure to take good care of your land and the DPAR. I’ll also probably build a new city.
