Treaty of Cabinda

Following the brief Cabinda Crisis, a compromise has been reached. The treaty stipulates the following:

• Raritania will remove its nuclear missile submarine from within range of Victoria and Areulia
• Raritania will formally purchase Cabinda from the local government
• There is to be a Non-Aggression Pact between Raritania and the GSA
• Sanctions placed on Raritania by the GSA are to be lifted
• Raritania is not to annex any more land on the African Continent

Election predictions

The 2096 Raritanian Lower House Elections are coming up this may. As it currently stands, the FNP is expected to hold its majority. The ACP is also expected to hold several seats. The RFP is expected to be the big up-and-coming party, but the RDP may also have some success, particularly in the Territories.

Cartel Purge

It has come to our attention that cartels are operating in the country, particularly drug cartels in the southern parts of the DSAR and various crime syndicates in the northern territories.

The Raritanian Night Guard has begun a crackdown. Cartel holdings and compounds in Arizona have been stormed and destroyed. Cross-border special operations have been conducted into Novistian New Mexico to neutralize Cartel leaders there; 1 civilian was killed when the Cartel sabotaged a wind turbine and a piece flew off and hit his house.

Winter Storm Pompey strikes eastern North America

A massive bomb cyclone has struck the east coast, leaving flights paralyzed and electricity knocked out across half the continent. Winter Storm Pompey explosively deepened to as low as 815mb, smashing old records. Winds reached 130mph (over 200mph at Mt. Washington), up to 3 feet of snow fell outside Unsloth, and temperatures in Niwklinton fell below 0 degrees Fahrenheit for the first time in Raritanian history. At least 250 people in Raritania alone are confirmed dead, most due to car accidents and hypothermia.
