(NNABC) - In the early morning hours of January 14th, the first gunshot was set off. Afterwards, an internal war quickly ensued the entirety of eastern Mundusia - commonly known by local Mundusians as "Autochthonic Mundusia" or "Native Territory" due to its high native population. According to governmental sources, recent ethnic tensions between the natives in Mundusia suddenly rose for an unknown reason on the 10th.

This ethnic division, discrimination, and other possible starters of this war eventually reached a breaking point. Now, the conflict's status has escalated tremendously. Government intervention is now imminent as of the time of publishing. To help viewers fully understand the conflict, we have created a rundown of events.

Prelude

On January 10th, as previously stated, ethnic tensions between the natives in Mundusia had risen drastically for no apparent reason. This report gained no coverage in the Mundusian news, since it was deemed to be "not a news breaking subject of sorts." Just a day after, native militaries and militias started to form and move through their respective designated ethnic land. Along with this, the political assassination of several native religious, political, and faction leaders was carried out by the Organization for the Liberation of the Territories of Mundusia - a designated terrorist group considered hellbent at destroying Mundusia at all costs.

OLTM group getting ready for deployment into another ethnic territory

On the 13th, a political crisis struck Eastern Mundusia due to the OLTM's flagrant involvement in the rising ethnic conflict. Despite having something to unify over, the natives still could not agree on a single solution. According to a news source created by Mundusian farmers who run plantations in Eastern Mundusia, the "king" of one of the native ethnic groups was poisoned which lead to a direct declaration of war by the ambassador who was accompanying him.

AD - Why am I seeing this?

(Recently, the NNABC has upgraded from a news source with only a website to a national commercial broadcast televised channel and a radio network that will soon span across the continent. As such, we require funds to continue running our business. We are deeply sorry we have issued your reading, however.)

Just 2 hours afterward, the native ethnic groups of Mundusia had a split in political, religious, and societal unity yet again. This all leads us to the 14th, when the ethnic groups' militias and militaries all started to merge with their respective ethnic groups. Suddenly, the OLTM instigated a false flag between the peoples of Eastern Casamance. Both sides appropriately responded and quickly created a battlefield. And thus, the first shots were set off.

Ongoing War

After the flagrant false flag incident between the two ethnic groups and the OLTM, other ethnic groups would soon join in on either side or their own. The OLTM, the instigator itself, entered the conflict under the guise of a simple peacekeeping operation. However, seeing as it didn't align with their ultimate mission, Mundusian senators became suspicious and advised QW-Korpal General George Zefvr to catalogue the situation up from "Medium Alert" to "High Alert: Monitor and Guard".

The day afterwards, the OLTM set off an explosion using explosives they had raided from a nearby abandoned military outpost. The explosion mainly affected a small native town called Yakeest and nearly wiped out all of the natives that inhabited the area. The OLTM quickly occupied the town and continued on their offensive, still pushing with the guise of being in a peacekeeping operation so that the Mundusian government could not legally get involved.

Meanwhile, the native ethnic groups were too busy with each other to fight the true enemy. Several villages were burned, and hundreds of civilians were killed by those who are currently vying for power and supremacy in Eastern Mundusia. This was one of the many reasons the Mundusian government would eventually consider getting involved.

The main factions of the ongoing war, besides the OLTM, are the Counterleauge of Liberation and the Naye Leauge of Association. They have been fighting nonstop on the frontlines of the war. Along with this, the unity that ties their respective alliances together is considered extremely fragile.

Despite this, the war rages on. Some accidental attacks on agricultural communes and plantations have also angered the Mundusian populace in Eastern Mundusia. Some have even taken extra precautions such as arming themselves and their workers. As such, these farmers and workers could not sell produce without being caught in the crossfire - most likely intentionally by the OLTM.

This has since caused pressure on the Mundusian government. A 40% loss in agricultural produce affected the Western Mundusian markets greatly. Now many are campaigning for the government to do something. A sudden dip in the Mundusian economy because of this was unpredicted.

Political and Economic Consequences in West Mundusia

Western Mundusia did not feel any serious consequences until recently. In fact, situations regarding the native populace were oftentimes avoided by the general Mundusian populace beforehand. Besides some laws to protect them, the government did not ideally care for the natives either.

However, when the war started between the native groups, many Mundusians turned their attention to the conflict - government included. People started to question what side to support, as they had no prior knowledge of the native ethnic groups that inhabited the land. As the populace started to support different sides, small rifts in several political ideologies of Mundusia started to form.

Most notably, in the National Front a rift is starting to grow bigger by the hours. Despite wanting to create a pure Mundusian state, some started to sympathize with the native groups. Most of these sympathizers were those who considered themselves as center-right, rather than the party's official far-right ideologic standing. This rift in thinking has caused a sort of "brawl with words" in the party, as said by the party's leader Karl Kopington

Along with this, the elections were also pushed back official by vote of the Senate. The official reason for this was because of the ongoing war within Mundusia's borders, and in the case the war drags out, George Zefvr would be best fit to lead the nation. QW-Korpal General George Zefvr himself designated the action void, seeing it as a prevention of democracy in Mundusia. However, the action was soon unvoided by the Democratic Assembly and the elections were pushed back once more.

Parties and party leaders who were participating in the election were outraged at the decision, but understood why it had to be done. Democratic-Republican party leader Chaddicus "Richard" Bigmuscle even congratulated the current president on his "reelection". This was met with overwhelmingly positive replies.

On the economic side, however, Mundusia does not seem to be as positive. Strategic resources were found out east back in 2095, and were being extracted. However, due to the OLTM's interference in the war these strategic resource factories were taken. The workers are currently, as far as we know, being held captive and forced to work 24/7 for the OLTM with limited suppliments to fuel themselves.

Without these strategic resources, some multinational businesses based in Mundusia have lost at most 50% of their stock price. Gas stations have now increased their prices by at most 30% as well. This has stressed out a large amount of the populace. One man we had interviewed stated that "these new prices help no one, and will continue to help no one until we finally reach a breaking point."

Similarly, most farmers located in Eastern Mundusia are unable to get their produce across the Regional Indicator Line due to the conflict. Markets that once relied on and supported these farmers are slowly starting to lose business. Some have already turned to urban farmers for help, but the people have noticed that the food is not as flavorful and rich as it used to be.

Accompanying this issue, many companies that have found themselves situated on or near the Regional Indicator Line have slowly stagnating stocks. This is not due to the OLTM's interference or the ethnic groups attacking them, however. Rather, it is because the companies' native workers were chosen indiscriminately from the ethnic groups. Now, they refuse to work with people of a conflicting ethnic group. CEOs are now worried that their businesses will fall soon because of this, as statistics show that at least 40% of the workers are non-Mundusian.

Where We Are Now

Taking all of this into consideration, the Senate and QW-Korpal General George Zefvr had a long meeting that lasted nearly the entirety of yesterday. In mentioned meeting, they discussed strategies of both war tactics and peaceful methods that could be used.

During the first third of the meeting, Senator Valike Moasten brought up his proposal for war. In his proposal, he discussed using regular war time tactics to both stabilize Eastern Mundusia and eradicate the OLTM. At the start of his plan, he mentioned that OLTM bases would be bombed indiscriminately.

To solve a possible displacement problem with natives, he also brought up a plan to send all the natives found at the OLTM base - that did not pledge allegiance to the OLTM - to desolate urban areas in Western Mundusia that are in need of a higher population. Continuing, the senator explained that unifying the native ethnic groups would be the first priority. This was for a unified attack on OLTM central bases once found, he then explained.

(Above) A group was already situated in the area of an OLTM base before the abstaining happened.

The plan sounds good on the surface, but other senators were unsure of what would happen in reality. A separate conflict could break out between Mundusia, the natives, and the OLTM, one senator stated. This hypothetical situation was not ideal at all, but the plan was considered "great". As such, the vote ended in an abstaining.

During the second third of the meeting, Senator Iastern Cloudet proposed a more peaceful solution. In said proposal, discussion of first trying to negotiate was brought up. If the negotiation did not work, then threats would be ensued on the native populace and the OLTM. If this still does not work, invasion and occupation will be conducted as peacefully as possible.

In case the negotiation does work, however, Mundusia will turn into a federal republic. Each "republic" will be for every native ethnicity. The "leaders" of each native ethnicity will be elected via a democratic system. Meanwhile, the OLTM will be destroyed in the background with discriminate attacks and liberation operations.

The government will also invite the native leaders into the Senate and the Democratic Assembly. This will, hopefully, incite some kind of unity between the natives and Mundusians. Wide-spread urbanization of some kind will also come, which will bring a greater life for the mostly underdeveloped native lifes.

The Senate also abstained on this, stating that the risks of cultural destruction of native culture was too great.

Unprecedently, QW-Korpal General George Zefvr called for a word. This would start the final third of the meeting. In his proposal, he combined the two previously mentioned proposals into one. This would give a mix of aggressive and passive strategies to end the war. The Senate would unanimously agree with the proposal, which would be called the "Government Intervention Plan."

Government Intervention Imminent

With that, the Government Intervention is now imminent. Negotiations are currently underway, which will reunify the native ethnic groups. OLTM bases are also on the Air Defense Force's radars. The aircraft are currently being readied for engagement for bombing. This is considered to be the government's last warning to the OLTM.

The Ground Forces have been put on the Regional Indicator Line as well, so that farmers can safely carry their produce back to Mundusia. Hopefully, this will be able to save the economy from going downhill any further. So far, the plan is going exactly as expected.

As of the time of publishing, the Casamance region is currently being secured by the Navy and the Ground Forces. The operation is considered to be "well-organized" by the general populace as well. The high-speed rail system has also been temporarily halted until further notice. Civillians are also being evacuated.

The success of this plan could also determine the future Mundusia's political system and the way the people see other cultures forever. Our prayers from the NNABC go out to those in Mundusia who risk their lives for this glorious nation.
