Investment Deal Between Graveyard Fleet and Morocco Signed

 Elizabeth Turner - January 19, 2096 4ec4803ea9f49858d0b181b534d2dcc6a34e9a05x397.png

The Fallenz Government and the Graveyard Fleet have reached an investment deal which will involve 10B USD of funding going into the developing African nation. The investment itself is about a fourth of the Moroccan GDP, with the GF justifying the excessive expenditure with the large stakes it'd receive over its investments and infrastructure in the nation. George Utica, chief captain of the fleet said that he first considered the investment when it was brought up by Felix Grand, former leader of TER before the two groups reunited on the 3rd. Grand, who we interviewed, said that he saw, "great economic potential in the nation which is crowded with resources, young people, and Atlantic Coastline."

The deal in question signed between the two governments gives the GF control over operations at several existing and planned mining and oil extraction projects in Morocco. The GF is allowed to export and manage the resources but all sales will be taxed by the Moroccan government no more than 13%. Felix claimed he wish the investment could of done through business channels but added that a more intrusive deal had to be made due to a lack of trust in Fallenz government institutions, "The potential for success and profit is there but it is a gamble and I wanted to minimize risk." According to the Graveyard Fleet, along with 8 Billion USD in investments into mining and infrastructure in Morroco, an additional 500 Million USD has been apportioned to bolstering regional businesses in Morocco to promote economic growth; Also 1.5 Billion USD that will be put directly into the coffers of the nation's military.

Huarez Forms Communist Party of Caribbean

Leonardo Huarez, president of the Republic of the Caribbean has formed the CDMC, or Communist Democratic Movement of the Caribbean which he described as "the pathway forward for the Republic and for humanity." According to polling from TPE, the CDMC has approval from 7.08% of the population of the Republic; This number rises to 13.55% in Haiti but lowers to 1.86% in Puerto Rico, according to the poll which was conducted throughout January to the 18th, polling 390,000 respondents. The formation of the party has prompted questions about the possible reaction from Dmzri, who - has staunchly opposed communism in several speeches during his time in the Graveyard Fleet but is also Leonardo's second in command. Additionally with the nation's proximity to the TUI whilst also possessing nuclear capabilities, albeit through the susceptibly fragile Graveyard Fleet, it also begs the question what Washington's thoughts are on Huarez, let alone a communist and potentially pro-soviet regime. Andris Kermeer for Ruddock Media analyzes the situation, "The Graveyard Fleet is losing its independence as a PMC and a result the Fleet Republic is reaching a crossroads in its geopolitical identity. To put it one way, the Republic feels abandoned by the rest of the Democratic World, no nations offered their support to the rebels government during the civil war and many nations including TUI have been complicit in colonialist expansion across Orbis. Additionally, the TUI has refused to sign an MDP with the Republic, despite doing so with much more, in the opinion of Huarez, aggressive or controversial nations, this has resulted in rising tensions." Thanks Kermeer.

French Guiana has been integrated as a new republic separate from the Caribbean Republic, with the nation being occupied over the course of a month and 10,000 CRGF soldiers being deployed on the border with Suriname and Cayenne. According to Huarez, the plans for Guyana will be to make the territory an independent nation with ties to the CR, similar to Ghana, Togo, or Cameroon. President Osei of Ghana applauded the move, saying that over 500,000 people in French Guiana are now protected from colonialist aggression and that his government was looking forward with establishing ties once the nation was fully established. Elections to decide the future of the newly forming nation will be held in June, according to the CR State Department.
