Global War Harms Trade

As many of you already know, a large scale nuclear war has broken out among several global superpowers. This has greatly harmed agricultural production across the state, and has caused many nations to begin mobilizing, leading to increased prices across the board. Speakers for the Military-Economic Alliance has assured our diplomats that we are unlikely to enter into a major conflict, but economists have warned that the destruction of major industrial and resource hubs could drive prices for necessary goods even higher. This and the massive loss in local agricultural output due to the ongoing nuclear winter has many concerned over food shortages. Administrator Bill Green recently released a statement to dismiss these fears, stating that our current stockpile are "enough to last Rapture itself."

Farmers Union Invests in Members

In his recent announcement, Administrator Bill Green has also announced the intention of the Trutan Farmers Union to focus on using recent grant money to increase the living standards of its members, with increased agricultural outputs as a second priority. His statement has been highly controversial, especially in light of the ongoing nuclear winter harming outputs and predicted disruptions in global trade. Many are accusing the union of misusing grant money and has called on the Board of Administrators to discipline the Farmer's Union and force a change in leadership, including Administrator Barry Truemore, representative of the National Mining Syndicate, who called the Farmer's Union "a nest of parasites that would rather see us starve than lift a finger." Green has defended the unions decision, stating that the grant money would have little effect in curtailing the nation's reliance on food imports, and that these new investments will create far more income for the state.

Airialine Co. Stocks Skyrockets After New Missile Developments

The Hegemony has recently finalized its latest contract with Airialine Co. regarding it's latest long-range missile system. The new system, new implemented across the state, will allow for highly target attacks on vital infrastructure across the globe. While some have accused it of being an overpriced "Golden Bullet,"  many military experts expect the new system to greatly improve Trutan's global power projection  while serving as a deterrent from similar attacks. The multi-billion deal has led to Airialine's stock gaining value quickly, rising more that 27% in value over the past month. Riding the wave of success, Airialine's CEO has recently announced development on a new "Iron Dome" System, which will allow for the defense from foreign missile strikes across the region. In the same announcement he also announced that their "Gladius" class jet fighters are currently in production, and will be on the market by the end of the month. The Gladius is a 5th generation fighter that was designed to fight similarly advanced craft fielded by global superpowers, while also retaining a smaller price tag. While the Gladius  is incapable of long flights, its superior dogfighting capabilities are expected to give the Hegemony uncontested control over the regional airspace. Many see this as a response to Militech's announcement last month to begin aircraft development, which many saw as attempt to remove Airialine as a major player in Trutan's Arms Industry. Airialine's recent developments have casts doubt on Militech's chances of entering the aircraft market, which was reflecting in a 0.5% percent drop in Militech's stock after Airialine's announcement. Some experts in the industry have even said that Airialine could potentially regain it's place as Trutan's premier PMC if trends continue.
