Negotions with AFR and large-scale wildfire

After extensive negotiations between British and AFR diplomats, a resolution to the AFR colony situation has been reached. AFR’s African land will be forced to revert back to its original size and Titan Corporation will own 60% of all natural resources in AFR Africa. Furthermore, the British company, Forge industry has been awarded a contract to create a factory in the AFR. It will be located in SouthEastern Miami, built on a stretch of land which was previously an expansive golf course. The factory will focus on the creation of heavy machinery and vehicles; they can then be exported via a canal passage cutting directly through the factory's estate. It is estimated that the primary factory will be 6.5 hectares in size and a further two buildings, albeit smaller warehouses, will be erected. The entire construction process is expected to be fully autonomous to minimise the number of workers in need of pay. In exchange, Britain will lift the no-fly zone inflicted over the colony. The MoD (ministry of defence) has announced it still reserves the right to fire upon any aircraft deemed suspicious and regular flight patrols will still be active. Fortifications will still remain along the border and our intelligence told us that further garrisons will be constructed close to the border. It will house touring soldiers and further African platoons.

We applaud the Anti-furry republic for being so cooperative on the matter. Raritania, on the other hand, has been denounced by Alexander Pendragon for getting involved unnecessarily. 

In the early hours of this morning, a fire of unknown origin erupted inside of a crude oil processing station in Southern Chad. Reports are mixed as whether the fire started from ongoing windstorms damaging the plant, a machine malfunction or a lack of safety protocols. All personnel were forced to evacuate the entire facility. Smoke pollution is spreading rapidly and has already covered a mile radius. Furthermore, oil has leaked into multiple water supplies for indigenous tribes in the vicinity of the station. The fire is still ablaze and large swathes of fields have caught alight. Firefighters in the area are attempting to control the blaze but because of their small numbers, they are not able to control the fire. Soldiers in the area have been deployed to the area to evacuate civilians and prevent anyone approaching the fire. Firefighting helicopters and planes have halfway been rerouted to Southern Chad in case it spreads. If the inferno isn't controlled rapidly, it could spread to the Congo Rainforest, as high winds are blowing it further south. Alexander has declared a state of emergency in Central Africa and has requested help from the International community.

Leaks from the MoD have unveiled a collaborative project between the major British companies Astrazeneca, Xenith Tech and Kalaidascope. The contract given to each company was worth around ten billion pounds. Not much is known about the project other than it is based out of an old cold war era bunker in a remote part of the Snowdonia National park. We can assume that it will focus on biotechnology as Astrazeneca, a medical company, is involved. When we enquired about the project, the MoD denied its existence.
