Hallo all, and I hope you had a good Naw-Ruz. Because it looks like we are starting off the new year-

(! Fun Fact: For those of you not aware, Naw-Ruz is the Baha'i New Year, Baha'is now being the majority religion in Lapunto and even now a sizeable minority of Hush)

-with a lightshow of God himself. Or is it? Because this light show came at the price of knocking down power to the southermost Angelovviloj..

(! Fun Fact: an "Angelovviloj" is the Puntan equivalent of a "Hoovervile", or at least with a similar connotation, as they are effectively metallic shanty towns with only the utility of off-grid electricity, created by waves of mass migration to the south after Partier PM Myratgeldi Angelov changed Puntan land governance opening the Antarctic Tundra to independent settlement.)

This is problematic because while some Angelovviloj do have supplies to fall back on, many do not and this directly endangers the lives of the settlers there. These settlements vary from having popualtions as few to 130 to as many 4000. Some have already restored power, while others have not gotten back into contact with outside world to confirm such. Furthermore, the southern lights are also acting in an anonymous matter, to the point where one Puntan astronomer, Husejn Lahiri, has begun questioning if this event is even related to the southern lights. He used recent satellite data as pictured in the thumbnail of this bulletin to point out that this southern lights event is stretching particularly far north considering the sun's cosmic winds currently seem to be stable and there is similarly not much fluctuation in the planet's magnetic field. Lahiri proposes that perhps another source of radiation is to blame. It's difficult to say what, but there has to be some source of radiation clashing with the magnetic field for God to decide to make the sky his personal canvas.

Writer's notes: I assumed Publikaj Okazoj would get to this story first, but no- apparently I did. Which is weird because Publikaj Okazoj is usually better at reporting on national matters. But I had enough time to get in touch with an astronomer for their opinion. Anyone find that a little weird?

This is very concerning and alarming to hear the situation of the people of La Punta in the settlements located in the Antarctic tundra, we are willing to send aid and research teams to help know what is going on in the region.

Correction and Clarification: Angelovviloj is a term to describe poorly serviced frontier towns, but is not the name of any of the multiple existing Angelovviloj. The singular form of this follows Esperanto, being Angelovvilo.
