On Frigid Seas: Update on the War Against Mundus

With the Mundusian abandonment of all North American holdings (recently confirmed by the Mundusians themselves in a recent progress update), the United Imperium claims victory in phase one of the operation. Although the abandonment was unexpected, it is not unwelcome. Due to our EMP and missile strikes against these territories, there will be an extensive rebuilding period before the infrastructure in these territories can be repaired. In particular, the EMP strikes dealt severe damage to the electrical grid and power plants of the area. During this rebuilding period, 10,000 Imperium troops will stay in the region to combat any potential civilian unrest or any pockets of Mundusian resistance that still may remain in the area.

Initially, we had around 500 aircraft in the GIUK airspace combatting the approximately 200 aircraft that the Mundusians were fielding in the area. With our advantages in battlefield awareness, aircraft technological superiority, pilot experience, and sheer numbers (as well as the lack of a Mundusian IADS network in the region) we were able to decisively seize control of the Greenlandic Airspace. The Mundusians lost approximately 140 of their 200 aircraft while we only lost 79 out of our 500 aircraft. In addition, our airstrike on the improvised Mundusian Air Base in Greenland was a success. Catastrophic damage was levied against the air base and future Mundusian air defense operations will likely be crippled from here on out.

On the high seas, our vessels continue their patrols. Our 50 ships from the European Theater Command are holding the line so far against the 40 Mundusian ships in the region, and in the coming days, ou air superiority will continue to lend a decisive advantage against the Mundusian naval effort. We have shut down the Mundusians in the sky. We have shut them out of North America. Shutting them down on the high seas is the next step in our war effort.

The Imperium's Second Task Force is expected to make landfall on Greenlandish soil around two to three weeks from now. This task force will bring 75,000 troops from the Imperium's Homeland Theater Command, 5000 tanks and armored vehicles, another 500 aircraft, and another 50 ships. This Second Task Force is expected to be the decisive blow that expels the Mundusians from Lunar soil once and for all. 

Finally, long-range missile strikes are being launched against Mundusian military assets in Senegal, Oceania, and Brittany. These strikes are being carried out to limit the ability of the Mundusians to support the war effort in Greenland from these areas.

These are the second set of combat actions from The United Imperium.
