Bangladesh

Welcome to the official page of Govt. of Bangladesh

This page will provide the information is about the education system of the country

The country has a very modern education system. and board

The board is completely Centralized and one and is fully controlled by the government of Bangladesh

Bangladesh Central Board of Education est: 2095

The BCBE  is followed by both public and private institutions

The student life began from Junior Kinder Garden

Junior Kindergarden (JKG)
Lower Kindergarden(L.K.G)
Senior Kindergarden(S.K.G)

These are the first classes the child is admitted typically, plays, stories, basic numbering and English
KG is mandatory for students to attend but if missed, it doesn’t typically matter and will be promoted to grade 1 instantly.

grade 1 to grade 8

The student will be introduced to 6 hours of school,
These are the important years for students and the teachers are trained in the way to teach students so that later in future they won't have any trouble regarding past teachings.

Students will learn 6 subjects and 2 extra subjects will be added to grade 2

The subjects are divided broadly into 2

Mandatory studies: Maths, Science, Social Science(called general studies), 1st lan, 2nd lan

Student interested subject:-

Arts & performance arts/performance arts like Dance, drama, and music.
Arts & visual: painting, writing, literature, poetry etc.

other non-art related subjects include:- Robotics, 3rd language,  computer science

GRADE 4 to GRADE 12

grade 4 to grade 12, will also be introduced to Saturday workshops to build their skills and practical knowledge

Saturday workshops will typically include woodwork, sewing works, and some technology work involving the making of robots or coding software taught by teachers who are specialized in these subjects.

Grade 9 to Grade 12:

This is the most important time for the students and all teachers teaching high schoolers are required to have a doctorate in the field of subject they teach.
the students from grades 9 to 12 will be introduced to 12 hours of school to reduce tutoring and the need for tuition.
From grade 9 students will be divided into groups and denoted as Group A, Group B, Group C, etc,

each group will have 20 students.
Teachers are also expected to help students out of work and clear all of their doubts regarding their subjects.

From Grades 9 to 12 the mandatory subjects will be removed, only 1st language and 2nd language will stay which will be English

And (the language the student has chosen)

Mandatory subjects : 1st language & 2nd language

Students will have to take 8 subjects from student-interested subjects but the subject they are studying will depend on their class 8 marks.

Student Interested Subjects or SIS:

Basic level Maths, Basic level Science, Social Studies, 3rd language (can be foreign), computer science, Electives visual arts and humanities, Health and physical education, Career and Technical Education.
*The student can do physics, chemistry, and biology if they want to give N.M.E but can include maths*

Advanced Mathematics and Elective Science: Advanced Bio, Advanced Chem, Advanced Physics.
Advanced mathematics and elective science require the student to have above 60% in science and mathematics in grade 8 to choose these subjects and take advanced mathematics and elective science
Advanced mathematics and elective science have a special syllabus that adds college and university-level studies, making it easier for such students to have higher positions in engineering and medical lines.
In Elective science, the student can choose Physics, chemistry, bio
But if they are interested in maths they can also study advanced maths with elective science

*note college-level studies of Maths and Science is taught in grade 9 to 12*

After completion of the boards, anyone who scores below 50% fails and will have to take the board exams next year.

The people who graduated boards with Advanced Mathematics and Elective Science
will go to university,
*if they choose to pursue the engineering field: they are required to have 60% above in Advanced Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and biology(if they choose to study advanced bio)
where they will first prepare 1 year for the National Engineering Examination (N.E.E)
next year they will give the N.E.E paper the passing marks are 450/1000 marks or above 45%

After giving N.E.E paper, they can either pursue a Bachelor of Technology(B.Tech)

 Bachelor of Engineering (B.E)
And get a master's degree later, but, if they want to get the Specialized, they are required to take the National Engineering Examination Advanced from university and then pursue, the specialized degree in whatever subject they student want

and doctorate will require the student to take the Bangladesh Engineering Advanced Examination

B.E.A.E is the toughest exam in the country and requires the student to get 650/1000 marks in the exam to be considered as a pass.

Now anyone who has not been able to take advanced maths and science electives and wants to pursue engineering or any medical field still has a chance to take the N.E.E and N.E.E.A test

But for that, it will require them to give Examination of Science and Maths E.S.M

if the student can achieve over 60% the student can continue to give N.E.E and N.E.E.A as well as B.E.A.E

*that’s for the engineering line*

Anyone who wants to pursue the medical field will be required to have above 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology
*both the advanced and basic kinds will be allowed for NME*

And join the university to take the National Medical Exam (N.M.E)
From there they can pursue bachelor's, Master's, Specialized, and doctorate in their medical studies.

Special about the new reformed education:-
Grade 2 to grade 8: is all about project-based learning with one exam to give at the end of the academic year.
Projects are the most important and the marks given will add to the student's final Academic scores for that year
Workshops are also a helpful way for the student to get extra credits that can increase a student's academic score if it is below average to pass the class.

Practical knowledge and research and project-based test.
The board exams though important don’t play as much of a role as projects
Every student has to do a monthly project that gives marks and is added to their final academic score.
Students are required to work in school labs and make projects based on the related work with the teacher increasing the student-teacher relationship.

Digitalization Examination:

Students will take exam so Special Device reducing paper works, most of the test is objective questions and require the student to choose the correct answer in the device,
Every school will Digital Examination hall and is required to have CCTV installed in the student examination cabin where one student in each cabin will have an examination device to give the exam,

After taking the exam the student will have to confirm the given answers and send, them the answers cannot be changed and the final result given will be stored in the school servers and each of the students will given his/her score,
This is the best way the government can reduce the paperwork, digitalize the whole country quickly, and make things streamlined for the students. And reduce cheating.

National & State Test:

The students from grade 4 to grade 12 will be able to take National and state test
this is a way to promote the competitiveness of the students and also productivity

State Tests and National Tests can be based on more advanced maths and science, which can help students in the long run with knowledge

State Test and National Test will give Prize based on Money to the 1st 2nd and 3rd students
The amount of money given will depend on the Test conducting agency.

National Science Fairs and more:

University students can attend science fairs and even compete by making their own projects and showing their work to others if found good the student can get paid a sum as a gift and might also win scholarships to prestigious universities,
Science Fairs are all about learning and gaining more knowledge about the latest technology and will be promoted in every state of Bangladesh.

Smaller and well-rounded curriculum based only on important work.
