I'm back (Kind of)

So some of you probably know me, most of you probably don't, I'm aware I was never a massive name in the rp community. I wasn't there very long in comparison to many of you, and I rarely engaged in a lot of the traditional combat and land based rp that seems to dominate most of the exchanges. But I think I got involved enough to warrant writing this (but if I'm wrong and I'm shooting above my status feel free to ignore me lol).

Secondly I'm aware I never formally announced I was quiting rp. Believe me I got half way through writing the bulletin multiple times before getting caught up in some new event or drama that persuaded me not to quit just yet. But I never really had the time to commit properly to it, especially over exam season and a busy summer, and it was an becoming an heavier and heavier drain on my real life as well as my commitment to my in-game alliance and friends. Because of this, I very aware ended up drifting away from rp, ignoring pings, abandoning roles, largely without much warning or if I did respond any sort of indication on how long I might be gone. For this I'm genuinely sorry to those it affected, particularly my friends and comrades in IFAPO and UNO, Orbis Olympics, The World Debate and DETU, many of which I held positions of responsibility in, positions I abandoned and for that I can only apologise. While it doesn't excuse my silent departure, I myself never expected to be gone this long, I think the whole time I was convincing myself I would return imminently, which obviously never happened. 

Now I'll be honest things haven't really got any less busy. I certainly don't have time to return to the level of involvement I was at before without ending up in the exact same situation again. But I do want to come back and there are some specific loose ends I really want to tie up/pick up on. As I say this is not a full return, and it may well not last forever either as other stuff gets in the way, 
 

As for what I'm focussing on in this time, for now:

• Internal Politics (My last elections were like 14 years ago or smth so should probably fix that)
• IFAPO - I won't be running for any congress/leadership roles until I'm confident I can do the role justice in the longer term but I have a lot of love for IFAPO and lots of friends in it so rebuilding my team, and hopefully finally finishing the SUL in one way or another is definitely on the to do list. 
• UNO - I read with sadness today that Bengal is stepping back from UNO, completely understandably so. I still think there is a place for it, potentially working alongside Dauch's recent bulletins highlighting rp guidelines (yes I read the bit about no enforcement too, I don't believe UNO is a body for enforcement but rather one to facilitate dialogue and an international and diplomatic scope to rp that is somewhat missing.) I'm aware my term as S.G is well done but if the members are willing I'll do my best to dedicate some time to reviving UNO. 

That's it for now. Even that seems ambitious tbh but it's all stuff I don't want to leave so we'll see how it goes. But as of now I formally resign from any leadership roles I still hold in any other organisations like DETU, Orbis Olympics, World Debate etc (if they're even still a thing idk). I'll stick around and participate when I can but I don't feel I have the time to do the roles justice. Anything else, global wars, territory grabs, I'm not interested, if it involves me its voided. Not that I have any actual territory anyway so doubt that will be an issue. Oh and if you've still got an issue with my island nation then blame the fact there is literally no land for rp newcomers lol. 

Anyway that's all for tonight. Tomorrow will hopefully bring national elections, a football league and a revitalised UNO. I'm looking forward to it, and to joining once again with the eclectic mix of wonderful and.. interesting... people in the rp community.
