Spes Aeterna First Elections Date Set

PM Justin Pollievre has received permission from HM the king to hold the first elections

NOVAROMA - The first elections in Spes Aeterna have been set for March 15, 2094 following a meeting between HM The King and PM Justin Pollievre, "it's quite bizarre", PM Pollievre said, "we all just came out of nowhere one day and agreed we were a democracy and that I was the PM, but we never actually had elections." Pollievre, who's government currently has a 50% approval rating according to SANews, is expected to win a majority in the 100 seat House of Commons, where the system used will be the D'hondt method of proportional representation. The current polling is as follows, according to SANews:

Social Democratic Party (Justin Pollievre) - 51.92%

Conservative Party of Spes Aeterna (Neal Jones) - 40.87%

United Moderates (Andrew Watson) - 4.23%

Other parties - 1.98%

Elections will be held every three years, but may be called sooner by a 3/5 majority in the House of Commons.
