(Stonington, Vetus Connecticuta) - The dust settles in Stonington as the QW-Korps occupies the nearly desolate town for the greater good of Mundusia. The town's resources are being drilled into as we speak, and headquarters are being set up. This occupation also marks the growing expansion of our great nation.

At 7:21 AM yesterday, around 400 tanks and 1600 soldiers landed in the coastal town of Stonington via landing ship. Upon arrival, the QW-Korps were met with nothing but wind. There was no person visible. Heading further, QW-Korps could only find ~2000 civilians all of whom were highly resistant and armed. Around 3 QW-Korps were killed and 5 armed civilians were killed. Remaining civilians were taken back as prisoners for this behavior and have since been inducted into forced service.

At 8:16 AM, the QW-Korps walked up to a hill and placed the Mundusian flag while others were taken down other flags. These other flags were quickly burned. All of them, from community flags to handmade. According to soldiers present, Captain Romeo Caville said the following: "there will be no treason in the state, no flag shall fly higher and prouder than our own. Burn them [the flags]."

Finally, at 9:28 AM, the town was clear. 4 additional QW-Korps went in and established headquarters and permanently occupy the area. 360 more QW-Korps soldiers arrived later on in the day. Around 600 prisoners were also sent back to the town as permanent residents and were promised freedom for one year of hard labor.

And with that, Stonington came under Mundusian control. The province of Vetus Connecticuta was also formed. Docks have also been replaced and rebuilt.

(Vetus Mundus) - After the occupation of Stonington, many citizens were worried that a counter-attack, if warranted, may come soon from the sea. Henceforth, Glorious President Smiter announced an increase in naval funding along with several ship upgrades.

According to General Andreas of the Alpha-37 Naval Task Force, "these new upgrades will come in handy when facing the enemies of our fatherland. Extra Anti-AA gun mounts, harder exterior, larger range tracking, we'll take it! All of it!" As of current, over 30 of the nation's ships are in repairs for upgrading.

Naval movements from 5 upgraded ships have also been detected. Why has not been disclosed by any ministry or the president himself. Many speculate it could be training or prepping. But, that is only pure speculation by citizens.

(Vetus Blockia) - A connective highway between the many islands and the coastal area that make up Vetus Mundus have been proposed. This highway could potentially lead to the next big expansion of Vetus Mundus.

The highway is proposed to go from Block Island to Fisher's Island, connecting to other islands as it continues all the way to Stonington. The proposal was made by Director of Economy, Elias Cassius, and was supported by a little over 60% of the populace. Glorious President Smiter has yet to OK the proposal, however.

This may be because of concerns that ships will crash into the highway/bridge and cause a structural collapse. Luckily, a work-around is currently being figured out.

(Fisher's Island) - Several calculations from the Ministry of Economy have revealed that building financial districts on the island of Fisher's Island as of right now would bring great economic prosperity to the nation.

These calculations were ran when Director of Economy, Elias Cassius, realized that the nation's economy would tank within ten years time if nothing was done to help because of stagnancy. Due to this discovery, several economists were called in to help create a path for Vetus Mundus to go on.

Using various methods, these economists were able to find one thing in common to help the economy: Fisher's Island. Due to the island not being inhabited for years, the island was ripe with opportunity for fishing, tourism, and overall financial success. Several government controlled building teams have already been sent to start construction.
