Eric Schmidt has been imprisoned after Sebastian II ordered his immediate arrest and indefinite imprisonment. This comes after Sebastian II reappeared after his presumed death and declared himself the Supreme Ruler. The Supreme Ruler said that "treasonous men such as Schmidt deserve no mercy and anyone who tries to harm the welfare of the nation shall face the full force of the law."  Eric Schmidt has long been an opponent of Sebastian II and he tried to seize power after the presumed death of Sebastian II. However, his efforts to restore democracy ended when order broke down and the military seized control of the parliament in the Free North City and the rest of the nation fell into a state of anarchy. Once the Supreme Leader reappeared, the military backed his effort to take control back over the country and all 13 cities united under his leadership.
