Council Approves Peoples' Self-Determination Law and Significant Reforms

The National Council approved early today the Self-Determination of the Peoples' act, a so-awaited reform initially raised by Sanches about 3 years ago and now carried out by Milo to be passed in the legislative.

The achievement gives strengthened autonomy for regions, a switch to a federal model, the end of the Lusophone Sociocultural Development Zone in Africa, the admission of Angola as an administrative division and a change to the official name of Igua-sul, in hopes of embracing ethnicity diversity.

Autonomy for Amazonas, Tocantins, Maranhão, Pará, and Nordeste

The Self-Determination of the Peoples now provides these regions a significant degree of political and administrative autonomy. Among the republics benefiting from this law are Amazonas, Tocantins, Maranhão, Pará, and Nordeste, all located north of Igua-sul. Each of these areas now has greater control over its internal policies, with the ability to make decisions that best serve the needs and aspirations of its populations.

This legislation also recognizes the cultural and geographical diversity of these regions, allowing for the adaptation of policies to specific local conditions. While still maintaining strong ties with Igua-sul.

Transition to a Federation

The transition to a federative republic is another crucial part of these reforms. Igua-sul now operates as a federation composed of several administrative units, which are States and Municipalities, in the respective order of power. Each with its own governor and mayors.

Admission of Angola Into the Union

Another symbolic and significant measure was the termination of the Lusophone Sociocultural Development Zone, which was instituted in 2089 when Igua-sul purchased the Zentekan Southwest Africa colonies and started to actually promote prosperity and civil rights to the population.

With the end of the zone, Angolan territory was split into 3 official states that participate within the union and have the same rights as the other states. This marks an expansion of the Lusophone fraternity and demonstrates a commitment to international cooperation with Portuguese-speaking populations worldwide.

Banto, Luanda and Kuanza now enjoy all the rights and responsibilities of a federated state, contributing to the cultural and political wealth of Igua-sul.

The death of Igua-sul

Igua-sul is an outdated word, not representing all of our true country but only the southern states, this is no longer happening as we are now known as Cruzeiro.

The name change is accompanied by a new tricolor flag, which symbolizes the honest labor of the people and Lusophone culture in black, the nation's wealth and natural resources in yellow, and the waters surrounding the Cruzeiran territory in blue.

Additionally, the stars on the flag represent the Southern Cross, also known as Crux. The typical constellation of the southern hemisphere represents a clear path and defined goals to be followed, just as it guided navigators during the discovery of the Americas, it will also guide the people towards a bright future.

President Milo is expected to give a speech of inspiration in the following weeks and visit each one of the states and republics. Elections for governors and mayors are also set to take place very soon.
