Individual Profile - Itachi

Today we sat down with Itachi, second in command and the head of IA for The Golden Horde.

Salvarity: Hello Tachi, thanks for taking the time to speak to me. Excited to have the world get to know you a little better. First off, lets start with just establishing who you are. Now Itachi's your Discord name, but what do you go by in-game and on the forums?

Itachi: Heyo, likewise! Both in-game and on the forums I'm known as Itachi as well.

Salvarity: Any important former names?

Itachi: Nah not really, I had a few names when I first started but by the time anyone actually knew me I was already going by Itachi.

Salvarity: One unbroken identity, good to know. Now, you've been in Politics and War a long time and The Golden Horde has only been refounded for a short time. Where were you before this iteration of TGH and what were you doing?

Itachi: For the vast majority of the time that I've played PNW, I was a part of the Syndicate but most recently I was a involved with Requiem helping out with IA and Tech as we worked to establish ourselves.

Salvarity: How many years were you in The Syndicate? And how many years have you been playing PnW?

Itachi: I've been playing PNW for almost 6 years at this point, and I was in The Syndicate for 4 1/2 years or so.

Salvarity: That is an impressive amount of tenure in one alliance. But now, you're in The Golden Horde. What about TGH attracted you here?

Itachi: I think that it has a similar-ish mission to Requiem, being that TGH isn't about being a bunch of farmers and is instead on trying to actively be a part of what happens in the game. Having been in the farming/ROI life for a while, its nice to change it up and occupy a completely different objective instead of just growing to grow. Add on to that the plethora of experience and competence here, and I knew that I wanted to be a part of the reformed TGH.

Salvarity: Now you've mentioned a plethora of experience and competence. Anyone in particular that you're excited to work with?

Itachi: It's nice to work with Buorhann, since previously we had always been effectively on opposing sides. A lot of the others here, I've worked with alongside them in different alliance governments or staffs, so I know that we have a lot of talent here.

Salvarity: Well it's good that you're excited to work with the leader, since you are second in command. But, if you weren't 2ic, what would you ideally be doing?

Itachi: I would be likely want to be focusing somewhere in FA somehow, and likely still trying to contribute with tech 😅

Salvarity: You're a brave man for wanting to work in FA, maybe in the future we'll see diplomat Itachi.

But, switching gears from PnW. Let's talk about the person behind the screen.

What are some of your favorite hobbies? I know you're a bit of a gamer already, any big games been capturing your attention lately?

Itachi: I really enjoyed playing through Final Fantasy 16 recently, and I still occasionally waste my time with League of Legends. But I'm mostly an MMO gamer and its been a bit dry out here for MMO players, though there are quite a few projects out there that could have potential. I am trying to get into Baldur's Gate 3 as well, but we'll see how much I can actually get into it

Salvarity: I've been enjoying Baldurs Gate lately, definitely recommend it if you're into DnD. But League of Legends, that's a big one. What role do you main?

Itachi: I mainly play Jungle (big mistake). I've tried to swap to mid many times but I'm just much better at Jungle so I often end up going back

Salvarity: I take my comment about FA back, if can survive the flaming that Jungle mains receive you can definitely survive the fires of FA
Now, any non-gaming hobbies?

Itachi: I do enjoy programming and occasionally going on hikes (though its too damn hot for that these days)

Salvarity: Touching grass, very rare in these parts. But I respect that

As half of PnW are functional alcoholics, I feel compelled to ask what is your favorite drink?

Itachi: My poison of choice is straight rum. I like darker rums, especially spiced rums, but my favorite rum brand is Ron del Barrilito. I occasionally enjoy Mexican beers, too, but mostly just rum.

Salvarity: And if you weren't living where you currently are, where in the world would you want to be? A visit to the rum producing countries maybe?

Itachi: That's actually a question I've been asking myself lately, as I'm considering moving abroad in the near future. The top two contenders are Puerto Rico and Japan, both of which would be drastic shakeups from where I'm currently at in Texas.

Salvarity: Not sure how Japan's rum is, but their whiskey is fantastic. But I'm sure you'll find great rum in Puerto Rico

Now, I see we're a bit over time. Thank you so much for speaking with me! Any final remarks for the readers?

Itachi: For all those I've not worked with before, I look forward to getting to know all. For those who I've worked with in the past, I'm happy to be working together again. :NODDERS:

Game Craze

One would think that an ongoing global conflict would dent activity in non-PnW areas. But The Golden Horde’s #gaming-chat is currently more active than ever. Buorhann is pushing Albion Online, Adam and Viselli have been grinding Warframe, while Salvarity and Pablo are focusing their attention on Stardew Valley, and everyone is joining the intermittent Jackbox Game. But the real star of this month has been King of the Castle. In this party game, one player becomes the Monarch while all other players are nobles.

The Monarch wants to hold onto their throne by any means necessary. Nobles are divided into teams and they want to seize the throne for their team. Through strengthening themselves and making sure the other teams and the Monarch are weakened.

And in typical PnW fashion, it’s been absolute madness everytime we play. Hop into TGH on any American weekend night, or early morning if Buorhann is free, and you’ll most likely find some people playing.
