Martial Law Lifted in Chinese Holdings:

The cities of Macau and Ningbo were taken from Hainan during the Hainan War. Military rule was established in said cities to ease the shift from Hainan law, to Dutch law. After several months of this military rule, Minister of Defense Koen Winkelman has announced that this will be lifted. A shift to civilian government will be enacted soon. Before this can be done though, a referendum on the future of the cities must be held. The options in this referendum are: 1. Attain a similar status as the DCH, having larger amounts of autonomy but also getting less government support. 2. Become fully integrated into the Dutch republic, lose all autonomy in return for being treated as integral parts of the Netherlands.

Most Chinese people we from VSV have spoken are in favour of option 2, as Ningbo and Macau aren't part of the German Federation. If they'd be fully integrated into the Republic, they would get the same opportunities they'd get if they were actually a part of the German Federation.

Government Opens Investigation into Fastfood Chains:

The government has opened investigations into several large, American fastfood chains after allegations that these chains are using substances and chemicals in their food which have been proved harmful to the human body by Dutch scientists. These chemicals have long been banned, and the chains had signed a promise to stop using them in their food.

A government inspector named Hector Myjer has been appointed to lead this investigation. He has put together a team of undercover testers and scientists to get to the bottom of these allegations.

The Dutch Republic Adopts a More Positive Foreign Policy:

The foreign policy of the Republic has long been cautious. We tried to keep other nations as far away from us as possible. It has now been decided to be more receptive to foreign diplomatic attempts to improve relations. This positive foreign policy should open more economic opportunities for the nation, which is always looking to get richer. Long Live the Dutch Republic!

You should allow a fast food chain (Lil Wings) into your nation. It was made in New France which doesn't exist anymore. I banned it in mine but many people have it in theirs Ig
